Hello all , I am tempted to purchase our stroller now due to winter sale. I am due in April with my first so clueless about all the options available.. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated 🙏 I was looking at Icandy but read that it's heavy, than bugaboo fox 5 or Venicci tinum upline? Any other options please do recommend.Thank you

What’s your criteria? My top pics as a nanny and mum would be Nuna or Uppababy travel systems but always a separate car seat. The Avionaut pixel pro is hands down the best on the market. But all this depends on budget, and storage space etc.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 04/01/2025 16:35

My friend likes her venicci but they live in the sticks so lots of woodland walks.
I had a nuna demi or mixx cant remember and loved it up to 8m or so but it was just soooo heavy and bulky.
If you are in city or urban area most people will suit yoyo or leclerc.
Both can be collapsed and set up one handed which imo is really handy.
One handed steering and super light / compact
I have leclerc as the basinette is wayyyyy more cosy for newborn vs yoyo and seat is padded and fully reclines so comfier for toddler / baby.

Yoyo has better resale though.

all of the light weight prams dont have a huge amount of storage though so if you want to take baby and do a big shop look for something else.

I loved candy peach? I think but just could NOT fold it

HPandthelastwish · 04/01/2025 16:41

The giant travel systems are often not used for that long as they are so cumbersome many parents moved to a light quick folding one.

Personally I had a Quinny Buzz and then Zapp, they were both pretty rubbish in terms of cargo space and getting shopping home which was a bit of an issue as I didn't drive.

But what I really, really liked about them was that they were parent facing from 0-4 years. DD was in her buggy alot as I didn't drive and did loads of walking the Buzz seats were memory foam so super comfortable and could be removed completely to be machine washed. The Buzz and Zapp seats could be tilted completely horizontal so DD could sleep properly instead of just reclining a little, the seat was positioned much higher than a standard buggy so a way from exhaust pipes and as DD turned out to be really tall she couldn't drag her feet on the floor. They came in fabulous colours too. I haven't seen a Quinny for a while though so I'm not even sure if they are still trading but if I had another child the parent- facing element for as long as possible and the proper tilt for sleeping would be a major priority.

My daughter is expecting her second baby in March . She was adamant that she just wanted a lightweight stroller without all the bells and whistles! She has gone for Oyster Gravity plus. We are getting the car seat as an extra. Cost about £550 inc seat ,cosytoes . It really looks ideal ,easy to fold and not too cumbersome.
Edited to say this buggy is forward and parent facing.

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/01/2025 17:15

Think about what you will use it for .
Will baby need a bassinet to sleep in?
Are you walking on pavements or a more rural terrain?
Will you be able to get it in your car boot?
Does it need to be easily collapsed for the bus?
Will you be using it to carry shopping?
What is your price range? Although there are lots sold in good condition second hand so this might be less relevant.
I , personally, don't like the carrying baby about in car seat scenario and would not prioritise having a car seat .
Front and rear facing as DC gets older?

After these questions, if you can, go to a shop with a choice of prams to get an idea and get advice from the sales team . You can do your final research on line when you have narrowed your options.

hatchedby2chicks · 04/01/2025 17:24

We are looking at the Uppababy Vista V3 it's parent facing the basket is HUGE and easily accessible. It has a bassinet and car seat can clip on, you can also make it a twin if you want to if you have a second.

Reddy01 · 04/01/2025 19:51

It depends what you want but I recommend going somewhere and trying things out. I was dead set on getting the bugaboo fox 5 as it looked so good but I hated it. It was too low, I struggled to fold it and it was just a hassle for lots of other little things. It does a 2 wheel thing and not even the shop folk could get it to work.

The venicci was lovely but due to the suspension I would have had to put one foot on the bar and then pushed the bar down in order to bump it up the pavement which was a big no for me as my mum or grandma couldn't manage.

I wasnt a fan of the icandy personally. I did like the uppababy but it was the newest nuna that won it for us as it folded easily and didn't need to bend down to pick it up. If you're planning on having more than 1 then the uppababy is really good for a double pram. The nuna demi next is also good for a double but I would have gone uppababy for double. The main reason I went for the nuna was due to the bassinet being the car seat meaning I can use that as a car seat and it means that I'm only folding the pram itself for the boot/back seat. We have maxi cosi for a non fully flat car seat for the other car which fits into the pram frame great.

Definitely try out and give yourself lots of time (we went twice and spent 2 hours deciding both times!). Everyone has different likes and dislikes but it's all about what works for you.

Another vote for Nuna if you want something sturdy yet lightweight and easy to manipulate and collapse one-handed. We had a nuna triv / pipa next travel system for our second and I loved it so much more than the cybex system we had for our first

SquashPenguin · 04/01/2025 20:10

I've got a Nuna travel system and very happy with it. It takes a beating and is very strong and sturdy.

LeafyGreen24 · 04/01/2025 22:22

I had the icandy peach with my eldest, absolutely loved it and used it for 3 years. I had a lightweight stroller too for some things but used the peach for as long as possible. It was a bit heavy to get in and out of the boot but otherwise really sturdy and a dream to push. This time around we’ve gone for a bugaboo fox 5, still pregnant so yet to use it IRL. Very nearly went for Vista 3, it was very close between them for what we want from a pram/ stroller.. carry cot that can be used on stand for downstairs sleeping, large basket etc. No plans for anymore DC so happy with one that doesn’t convert to two.

Thanks, that's really good to think about all the questions.
I drive so won't use it for bus rides I guess, only train sometimes
I would like some shopping space that s for sure
Lightweight and reasonable size is a must as I am 5ft2
Another factor would be good suspension as I like walking a lot
I am very confused about their sizes when looking online but I am going to shop tomorrow ☺️

At slightly shorter than average it's probably a good idea to push lots of them tomorrow and make sure they are comfortable. Also that they have extendable handles if anyone very tall is likely to push it although I believe you can buy extenders now.

If you are going on lots of walks particularly in parks or woods you might want one with proper pump up tyres like a jogging buggy. I don't think you are meant to job with it till baby is 6 months due to head control and your own mending but presumably they come with bassinets / car seat adapters.

Reddy01 · 06/01/2025 02:30

Not quite we ended up with the mixx next bundle instead of the demi next and with the cari next (bassinet as car seat) and then you get an older car seat too which can still be used from birth.

nunababy.eu/uk/mixx-next-cari-next-generation-travel-system?color_ref=16693

The demi next bundle like that is great with a massive basket and although somehow lighter, it was bulkier when it folded (double pram probably) so we went for the mixx next when we measured for the boot of our cars as we still wanted to be able to get dog in the boot too 😂.

The bassinet as a car seat is great (joie has one similar) and I can't wait to use it but it does take up the middle seat so if you are precious of room it might not be ideal but I guess it's better for them to be flat and it's only for the first 6m roughly🤷‍♀️. We also have family that are roughly 1/2 hours away and like the fact that we don't have to stop to move them out of the usual car seat position. It can also still be used like a normal bassinet and it has really good padding in comparison to the usual one.

Does the avionaut car seat rotate 360°? If not, do you recommend any car seats that do? I've been told by other mums rotating car seats are real back savers

AgeGapBbe · 12/01/2025 01:51

It doesn’t, but one of the isofix bases you can get for it, does. https://avionaut.com/car-seats/avionaut-iq-orbit/?color=BLACK

however, an infant capsule seat is one you can just take in and out so you can always clip them in, in the house then if you have any of the isofix bases for it, it’s one click and done in the car!

Safety was never so light before

I cannot seem to find any shop in London that has Venicci in display to try it as well. Do you have any idea? 🙏
I tried Cybex priam and I candy - love it but mot the price
Tried Bugaboo- not really for me
Tried Nuna - not for me again
I tried inglesina aptica - the best I seen to be honest but again the price is ...

A baby at work has a Jane, with lie flat car seat. It's lovely.

Nilz · 11/02/2025 21:04

Hey, I'm expecting my first baby in May and I've decided on the Nuna Triv Next. I recommend going for a whiz around the shop and having a go folding. I found this buggy is lightweight but also felt sturdy with good suspension for city roads.

VickyBrg · 12/02/2025 06:03

I bought Icandy 7 in the end. its not the lightest but felt very steady and really like the design as well. Now looking for a car seat, I think T Cybex maybe

So me and my partner went into our local mamas and papas. They were super helpful and had loads of different options for us to try out.
My biggest thing was I needed something fairly lightweight as we live in a flat up a couple of flights of stairs. So I ended up getting the Flip XT pushchair system.
Then I added the Cybex cloud T and Cloud T rotating base to that as it has the lay flat option on the car seat (more space for little one). Plus with the base, it supports the bigger car seats as well which will make life so much easier when baby gets bigger.
