Good evening!

I'm really struggling on how to spend my money and what i ACTUALLY need for when the baby arrives.

I already work full time but struggle financially and want to make sure i have everything i need but at an affordable price??

Can any mums recommend websites or places or things that i may need or they have found good value?

Many Thanks xxx

Congratulations!! I think there's such a tendency to go overboard these days so you're absolutely right to be thinking this way! Essentials would be somewhere safe to sleep, bottles if using, basic clothing, car seat and buggy.

Some more detail then. I bought a babylo bedside crib on amazon while it was on sale. Cheap and cheerful and exact same as more expensive brands. A sleep sack for bed is easier and safer than blankets. Could skip the bedside crib to save money if you can fit an actual cot in your room. IKEA do a slightly smaller size cot Gulliver that does the job perfectly.

Check out FB marketplace for secon hand buggies. No need to buy new you'll find some in great condition.

I've found Next to be the absolute best for baby clothes in terms of quality and fit. Some of their stuff can be on the more expensive side but their multipacks of basic white vests and babygrows are great staples and good value. Don't bother with outfits imo - they're only in them a few hours, not comfortable to roll around in and still need a babygrow for bed so end up in 2 outfits a day, such a waste! A warm cardi, hat and blanket also essential.

Muslin cloths are great for burping. Don't waste your money on bibs they never caught any puke ever for my pukey baby so have sat in a drawer untouched!😂

I combination fed and went for Mam bottles. They can be sterilised in the microwave so you don't need to buy a steriliser.

Hope some of that helps. Remember people will gift you things too so don't buy much and wait and see what you need afterwards.

I bought almost all my baby clothes from charity shops and vinted. It's so much cheaper and because they grow so quickly even second hand stuff is typically in great condition. Plus there's no point spending lots of money when your baby will grow out of it quickly themselves!
