Taking aspirin

I have had two early miscarriages and have read in so many places that taking daily aspirin got people through their pregnancies

Even recently I read on here that someone really regretted stopping taking daily aspirin at 11 weeks as then they lost their pregnancy. Ofcourse they don't know if stopping aspirin was the reason but regret stopping taking it just incase.

I had the most horrendous midwife appointment today (my initial booking appointment- she said I am 10weeks but I think I'm more 8 weeks - she didn't ask me cycle length for a start. I am regular 5 weeks)

She was so cruel and cold and I ended up crying (unlike me) - half hour later she started also crying and said she was sympathy sad for me (?!?!!!!)

She was slightly less meanly worded after that.

I have requested midwife change.

However she told me to stop aspirin immediately. I am terrified if I stop I will start bleeding (I have two children and have had two loses)

Does anyone have any experience with aspirin?

From what I have read many professionals are for and many are against.

TIA

I had to take low doses on aspirin in my 3rd pregnancy after having Pre-Eclampsia twice. It was Pooh poohed by my GP originally as it was something I'd seen online.
However, my GP rang me back the same day to apologise... he'd read my notes and it had (unknown to me) been written on my notes after pre eclampsia number 2.

My consultatant was very keen on me taking the aspirin too.

I'd speak to your GP, or consultant if you have one.

Sorry you had such a difficult appointment. Not too sure why the midwife would have told you to stop the aspirin to be honest. In general it's not usually recommended before 12 weeks, at which point it is very often suggested to be taken by quite a lot of mums to be, after consideration by midwife/doctor as to whether there is potential benefit. That said, you dont say what dose you are taking so this may be a factor in the advice to stop.
I personally take low dose aspirin every day through my cycles but this is under docs suggestion to me and is related to reasons behind my own previous losses.

I’ve had recurrent loss and taking low dose aspirin now in my pregnancy. I spoke to a specialist bereavement midwife who said it was safe as I’m taking it off my own back to prevent further loss.

I’m on low dose asprin due to preeclampsia in my previous pregnancy but got told not to start it before 12 weeks. No idea why. Asprin helps the blood flow to the placenta so I guess maybe it’s that the placenta isn’t set up until 12ish weeks, before that if you were to miscarry maybe it makes the bleeding worse if it was to happen? Because the blood is thinner? Only guessing.

The epu didn’t mention to take asprin but they did say progesterone is the new thing offered if you have bleeding in the current pregnancy plus had previously miscarried. They did studies and it showed progesterone could possibly help certain women.
