Rapid cool bottle maker. What do we all think?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the rapid cool bottle maker flasks? Are they worth getting? They didn’t have these when I had my 2 children years ago but wondering whether to get some this time around?

Everyone I've heard who have used it have loved it and said how handy it is.

I never used/heard of them with my other two but this time round I decided to buy them. Baby is 2 weeks old and omg they are an absolute game changer, especially at night. I would say it's probably one of the best baby purchases I've made, would 100% recommend.

I actually used mine more for the fridge method than the “proper” way as my youngest had colic. So I’d make up 3 or 4 bottles using a hot shot topped up with cooled boiled water from the rapid cool. The bottles were then cool enough to go straight in the fridge for use when needed without having the foam on top that made the colic worse.

100% recommend. They were a life saver for night feeds when my baby was a newborn. I bout a set that had two rapid cools and a thermos. Eventually stopped working as effectively but baby was about 8 months old then so I just threw it out.

i'm a bit sceptical about whether the water is the right temperature when the formula is added so i've only used it a handful of times. once sterilised you have to wait a few hours to use again and the lid cant be washed. it also makes the formula quite foamy. i think its okay

TheBirdintheCave · 31/12/2024 08:26

I looked into it but didn't see the point as you have to sterilise it between uses and we're often out of the house for more than one feed in a row.

We just use a Thermos flask and do the hot shot method.

BackinBlack24 · 31/12/2024 08:32

It's how I make all my bottles using the hot shot method so the rapid cool doesn't have to be sterilised after every use . Life saver at night I have the flask that goes with it as well

Whywhwhy · 31/12/2024 08:35

Yes definitely, we do a hot shot to sterilise the formula and then use the rapid cool to cool the remaining water to add. It's invaluable for us!

@BackinBlack24 This is from their website:

@TheBirdintheCave that's if your putting formula into it though only add boiling water to the rapid cool ... because I use the hot shot method for making the bottle

TheBirdintheCave · 31/12/2024 10:23

@BackinBlack24 But how is that any faster/more convenient than just keeping a flask of cold boiled water in the fridge and one of boiling in a Thermos? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well for one in the middle of the night I just reach I. We to my bedside table and don't have to leave the room , my baby woke every 2 hours for a bottle during the night . Also very handy when I'm out and need to make a bottle. Each to their own but I love it

This was one of my ride or die items for baby #1 and will be using again when baby #2 arrives. Like previous posters, I didn't make up the formula in the Rapid Cool, instead used the hot shot method in the bottle and topped up with cooled boiled water from the Rapid Cool so I didn't have to sterilise the Rapid Cool between every use. Grandparents also got on well with it when providing childcare. Initially we used it when we were out and about (which was a lot - babies way more portable than toddlers!) but after we realised baby's reflux was made worse by Perfect Prep it became our sole method of making bottles and very much second nature - no need for a fridge and we took a thermos of boiling water if out and about.
