Hi, please be nice 🤣
first time ever being pregnant & I’m struggling so much
not being sick but feel so sick all day, so hungry but when I eat I feel more sick.
starting to gag in the evenings now & have acid reflux.
along with feeling so tired & the occasional headaches.
Morning sickness started about 5 weeks ago.
please tell me it gets better??
struggling day to day atm - unsure if the weather is adding to it but this feels never ending.

planned for this baby so really want to enjoy it but it is just feeling really hard rn!

Thank you in advance!

The first trimester is brutal.

What you've described is totally normal for the first trimester and often beyond I'm afraid but it does get better for 99% of women - I'm 27 weeks now and only very rarely sick these days. Also the tiredness is not nearly so bad as it was and i can eat again. There are other symptoms like heartburn but overall I feel much better

Hang on in there. I felt the same as you. I cried most days because the struggle was just too much! I was sick a few times but mostly felt sick so I was prescribed xonvea which helped so much! I wouldn’t have coped without it.
I started to feel better around 15/16 weeks. I’m still tired but nowhere near as I was! You can do this 💪🏻

Hey, I’m 9+1 with my 3rd baby and finding it hard too. So much more nauseous than my previous pregnancies. I’m very tired but have 2 (poorly) other kids - luckily my DH is taking the lions share but I’m dreading us both going back to work in the new year! Sending you hugs, you’re not alone.

Definitely recommend speaking to your GP or the pregnancy sickness support charity. I'm on Xoneva and like PP would not be coping without it

It gets better. Try rennies or similar for the acid reflux, I'm 35 weeks now but I've been taking them several times a day since the beginning. Nap when you can. Second trimester isn't far off for you and that's generally when it gets better for a lot of women.

I'm also 10w and it's so grim! But I know for me, 10w is peak nausea and exhaustion and it will start to ease off soon. Hope yours does too!

Emonade · 28/12/2024 20:26

I was exactly the same but honestly week 14 it all disappeared, and get some rennies!!

It does get better, I had terrible sickness all the way through but I’d say from around 16 weeks it did get a bit better. I had particularly bad sickness though.

I also has acid reflux, I went everywhere with a bottle of gaviscon and that worked amazingly well. I did have to take it in the middle of the night though.

Only advice I’d give is don’t put too much pressure on yourself to enjoy pregnancy. I felt so confused why pregnancy didn’t feel like this magical experience where I was growing my daughter, but unfortunately for some it isn’t all fun plus I don’t think people talk about the bad bits. I was so taken aback by how hard pregnancy was but I think I’d have found it easier if I had expected it to be hard if that makes sense.
