Hi everyone I'm a little worried, my husband and I are potentially moving back to the area I grew up in January and I'm currently 26w+6 days pregnant, I am high risk and consultant LED due to low papp a. I am due to start having growth scans from 32 weeks until baby is due... im worried about moving 2 hours away due to having to reapply for a midwife etc and being lost in the system. Has anyone else moved while this late in pregnancy? How do I go about getting a new midwife etc? X

I wouldn't worry too much, just contact your new midwife unit/hospital when you arrive (you will probably need to register with a GP to do this).

I am 26 weeks and have just returned to the UK from living overseas so all my antenatal care up till now has been in a different country. I've just had my first appointment with the midwife here last week and got up to speed very quickly. It wasn't an issue - I am also high risk and will be consultant led. The midwife has referred me for a consultant appointment and scan and I've got another appointment with her in a few weeks.

I moved house at 28 weeks, it was totally fine! I just had to register with the new local midwives, take my notes from previous trust and re-do a booking appt.
Good luck!

What worries me is I'll be at least 33 weeks pregnant by the time I move and I'll be needing another growth scan at 36 weeks to assess baby's growth. I will call the local midwives in the area to check everything out thank you x

I did my self referral before I'd actually moved so I had the initial appointment booked in straight away after I'd arrived.
Scans and other appointments have been booked in quickly despite being over Christmas and new year.
I really wouldn't worry about it

Did you have a GP when you signed up to a midwife? I assumed you had to have a GP in the area? What was your process please x

I moved back from Italy at 35 weeks pregnant. I just went straight into the GP, asked to register and took it from there. No issues.
