Nausea & fatigue

I’m currently around 9 weeks pregnant and I just feel nauseous all day every day and so so tired, no matter how much I sleep. I’ve not actually been sick and I’m still eating but it’s just this constant nausea.

This isn’t my first pregnancy but I don’t remember feeling like this with my other children. Someone please tell me it won’t last through the whole pregnancy?

I found the nausea peaked at around 8/9 weeks and I was so tired it was ridiculous. Gradually got better though until it went completely at about 13 weeks, at least that was my experience. It’s horrible though and does feel like it will last forever…it will pass!

As above I had this up until about 10 weeks, I found that eating little and often helped me massively. Basically I didn’t let myself get hungry at all. Sometimes this meant forcing myself to eat when it was the last thing I wanted to do. I’m only 13 weeks pregnant now but the nausea has stopped so I hope the same will happen for you. Take care.

Yes this is exactly me! I’m eating constantly as that seems to be the only thing that kind of helps the nausea. Feels ridiculous that I’m this tired, it’s not like I’m carrying around a full grown baby inside me but it feels like it!

let’s hope it only lasts a couple more weeks for me also then!

I suffer from horrendous fatigue in the first trimester but it always fades to a normal level of pregnancy tiredness by the second and third trimesters. The only other time first trimester fatigue has been rivalled is right now - I am anaemic and third trimester with twins and can barely function…!

I feel for you. I'm 33 weeks now and my massive bump is really starting to get in the way and I feel so heavy, but 100x better than I did in the first part of the pregnancy. I also had non-stop nausea, although I was only ever actually sick a few times, and fatigue that non amount of sleep seemed to cure. It just felt like a never-ending hangover and the not-knowing when it would end was one of the hardest things about it.

For me it did go beyond the first trimester. I think I was more than half-way through the pregnancy before it had gone almost completely, but it gradually improved between around 14-20 weeks. Hopefully yours won't last so long.

I did have a very similar experience with my first pregnancy (this is my second), but found it harder this time and the fatigue worse as having a toddler meant I could hardly get any time to relax, so I think sometimes it the other stuff you have going on affecting how you feel. I did have a few days of work sick while toddler was in nursery when I just couldn't cope. Also found that calippos and polo mints temporarily relieved the nausea a bit

This might not be for you so feel free to disregard..! I'm nearly 7 weeks, it's my third pregnancy and since 5 weeks the nausea has been awful, it wasn't like this before and with my first it was tough but manageable. This time I wasn't able to function.

My GP prescribed Xoneva (licenced for use in pregnancy - designed for morning sickness) and it's been life changing. Honestly feel like I could cry because I don't feel like I'm going to be suffering through Christmas. It's not gone.. I don't feel 100% but it's low lying now
