No experience of these results, can someone explain please.
They're my daughter's. I don't recall having these tests when I was having my babies.
Thanks.

I am confused why patau and Edward’s is v v low but not downs?

They're both low, however the downs risk increases with maternal age - so you can see the risk based purely on your age above and then adjusted for your test result.

1 in 967 based purely on your maternal age Vs the 1 in 5000 but once they have adjusted for your levels and NT results they've reduced that risk further.

With these results no further testing would typically be recommended. It's well above the threshold.

If you are particularly concerned you could have NIPT privately, this is more accurate but around £275-500 depending on where you go and if you have a scan as well. I'm doing this as I'm 38 but your numbers are low so it's unlikely much would change

Nipt tests have been offered as standard since 2011 which is why you won't have had them when you were pregnant.

Thank you both. My daughter is 29, so still fairly young in terms of risk, I guess.

I had my youngest in 2008, ended up needing a CVS during that pregnancy, was a v high nuchal fold risk, at 38yo.

Apparently this isn't the NIPT results. It's genetic screening. The NIPT is the next step, as I understand it.

So, are these results OK?

Is the Downs a high risk?

Yes the downs is low that’s why us says lower chance next to it

Goldpanther · 20/12/2024 15:58

1 in 5000 is the lowest they will give.

1 in 1384 is the same as saying 0.07% chance of downs, which is also super low.
And as a PP has said 1 in 967 is average for her age, so her result is lower than average. If I was her I wouldn't go for further screening.

That's reassuring , thank you @Goldpanther
