Hey everyone!

I have just gotten my first positive test ever, which I did first thing this morning. I am super excited! We have been trying for a few months and I am in shock that it has happened. However a part of me is worried its not true? Does that make sense? I used a Clearblue digital test, and it said 2-3 weeks? I called the doctors this morning and have been told to self refer online. I am going to tell my partner tonight as he is at work at the moment, and I think something like this is better in person, especially as its our first pregnancy. If anyone has any advice on what to do next? Or anything else I might need to do? I am still in massive shock and a mix of emotions, mostly very happy 😊

Congratulations! If you’ve self referred, a midwife should contact you soon. They will book an appointment with yourself and will take all the relevant information from you.
They will also refer you for your NHS 12 week scan x

Congratulations! It is definitely surreal!

Once you've referred that's it, they'll send you your first appointment for about 8-10 weeks. Some areas book your scan straight away for a dating scan at 11-14 weeks and others wait until after you've had your booking appointment.

Make sure you're taking folic acid and vitamin D

Read up on the NHS website about what you shouldn't be eating / drinking / what medication is considered off limits.

I quite like downloading a pregnancy app that tells you each week how big they are. Baby centre lets you do a 'bumpie' each week and makes a little video. My first is 6 and likes watching it to see how she grew!

Yes to the above ! Pregnacare vitamins are good, they usually have all the vitamins you need during pregnancy x

Thank you so much! I will definitely have a look at things I need to take. I think we are going shopping on Sunday so I'm gonna do a haul of vitamins. I had some folic acid in the cupboard as I heard it helped with symptoms of PCOS, but switched to some gummies so ill start taking it again. I'll definitely have a look at that app, that is so cute! I bet she is fascinated! and a lovely way to remember, will absolutely check that out😍
