Horrific pain in very bottom back/ bum HELP

Hi everyone- I'm 20 weeks pregnant and for the last week and a half I have experienced the most horrific pain in the very bottom of my back, and bum (sorry lol)
It is only when I stand up however, even if I haven't been sat down for ages, and I always get up and walk about etc so I can't see how being sat down is causing it.
The pain/ ache is that unbearable it makes me want to cry and actually not stand up. It feels bruised when I press on the area, but I have not fallen or anything?
What could this be as I need to do something to help the pain

I've got this, too. I think it may be sciatica...

Your midwife can likely refer you to physio, or you can look up exercises on YouTube, lots of Trusts have put their recommended stretches there.

For me, it started at 21 weeks and was initially only bad when I stood up, and now at 24 weeks it's pretty constant. Some people find a support belt helps a bit.

What exactly causes it? Its so painful to touch/ put pressure on or when I stand up...
Have you been doing anything to manage/ control the pain that you can also suggest ?

Sounds like sciatica!
I had a pregnancy massage last week, and it's definitely eased it (I'm 20w) so would recommend giving that a go.
They say its due to things shifting around internally and putting pressure on your nerves x
