Taking second maternity

I'm currently on my first mat leave, I'm taking the full year using my earned holiday. I want to have another child while I'm still can. Does it look bad if I go back to work for 26 weeks to earn my next maternity leave? Has anyone done that? My work has sponsored me on work visa. If didn't think of another child, I did quite after the 3 months I suppose to work having taken the first leave. Not sure what to do.

Do you need to go back for 26 weeks? Is that for your employers maternity leave?

A couple of people where I used to work came back from maternity leave pregnant again and it was never an issue, it was a big workplace though so really it doesn’t have a massive impact on anyone, might be different experience somewhere smaller

I want to have paid leave again. I want to have my second child while working so I don't lose too much income.
To get another job will mean, I need to work for another 6 months to get coverage/qualify for maternity leave..

Current job, my contract says I need to come back to work for 3 months minimum for having taken maternity leave. So I'm thinking I could do another 3 to 4 months and go back on leave. Do another year off work. Ideally I would like a career break but at my current job on a work visa I don't qualify

Ah I see so if you get a new job then you’d need to do 26 weeks and if you stay you’d need 3/4 months? Make sure you check the dates properly before you start trying if you want to claim SMP as there are earning requirements in the eligible weeks so if you were on unpaid maternity during those weeks you wouldn’t be eligible
