Sneak Peek

I’m considering having the Sneak Peek blood test done. There is a clinic in my area offers it for £130 and I’m assuming this test will be much more accurate than the one you do at home?

A friend done the at home test a few months back and it was accurate so she thinks spending the extra to have the blood taken in a clinic is a waste.

I’m worried about doing the at home test and getting the wrong result and feeling like I can’t trust it though.

Whats everyone else’s experience with these tests? I know I should probably wait until I can have a gender scan

I did the at home one, it seemed to go fine and according to instructions; but the result was wrong (according to two scans I’ve had since).

If you’re going to do it, I’d get it done clinically, or use a different company who offer a snap style blood draw rather than lancet. Sneak peek don’t here.

The at home tests can get contaminated if there are males (including pets) around. I've heard soo many stories of them being wrong.

I paid the extra to have done in a clinic (tbf it's not too much more as it included a scan too). I was told I was having a boy which was also confirmed by scan at 16 weeks too.

We did sneak peek at home, just for a bit of fun/pick me up to get through what was a rubbish time. I’m the only female in the house so went a bit crazy with hand scrubbing and spray bleached the worktops before getting the kit unpacked 😂

Result came back in good time, the email had a little video animation thing to click on with pink confetti for a predicted girl, 20 week (and later growth scans) showed the same - sure enough we had a DD so it was right for us.

A clinic is definitely going to have less chance of cross contamination, we didn’t bother as we weren’t too serious about it but still managed ok!

I did the home test at nearly 9 weeks, confirmed twice since that the result was correct :)! It’s really easy to do and as long as you correctly follow instructions and make sure there are no males near you while your doing it that could possibly contaminate, also sanitise the work surface you do it on you should be fine x
