Good evening all

Hoping to get some advice from anyone in a similar situation.

Currently 41, had first baby at 39 via ivf (unexplained infertility) we now want to try for another via FET. Any success stories and what you did to prepare with a little one. Are you able to pick them up etc ? Take them to nursery. First time round I literally hibernated and feel like that won’t be the case this time round.

I have booked annual leave to take time off work. But for me it’s with baby number one who wants me to pick him up.

Of course you can pick him up! Pregnancies aren't lost by picking up a toddler.

I've got a 5 year old born by FET. In the 2 weeks after embryo transfer (and thereafter during the first half of pregnancy) I went running, carried heavy things, and generally went about life normally. I'd had 2 failed cycles before. I was 43 when DC was born.

Best of luck!

Yes, life goes on as normal - you can't just hibernate when you've got an older child! You'll be picking them up and lugging their stuff about all the way through the pregnancy. Just try not to be sick on their head with morning sickness 😂

I had my 2nd successful FET when my 1st was 15 months. I just carried everything on as normal. I think I even had a few small drinks as I was 100% convinced it wouldn't work. It was our last embyo of 4 and the 'worst' quality one. I'd even started seriously looking up my next ivf clinic outside of the NHS to go again with another cycle. I also was still breastfeeding a bit even though I don't think I should have (mine was unmedicated so was more about the hormones rather than any medication)

Anyway, it worked, and then by 14 weeks there was no way I could pick up my toddler at that point from the SPD!
