Hi ladies. So I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant. At about 19 weeks I started getting sore whilst standing up, walking, rolling over in bed. I went to a Christmas market with my partner yesterday, we did do a fair bit of walking but nothing too crazy and i was in tears last night with the pain. It just feels like every time I put pressure on my legs or move a certain way, my pelvis is going to snap or down there is going to explode. I have a pregnancy belt and I've been referred for physio but I've heard it takes ages to come through. Just feeling very sorry for myself and dreading work today... anyone have any experience or tips for me? I still have 3 months to go and I'm so scared it's just going to get worse 😭

PGP is the worst ☹️ I found that shapewear (spanx) was really helpful to hold everything together.
Obviously I made sure it fit well and wasn't too tight but it supported my pelvis enough.

Speak to your dr about getting crutches to take the weight off when you walk:

The wait for physio is insane and it's possible that you might not get an appointment whilst you're still pregnant. Are you in a position to go private?

This is unfortunately quite normal, I also had it in my pregnancies, the worst was with DC1 because I wasn’t prepared for anything like this and it hit me like a freight train.

In my case I had the belt and it helped a bit but not much. What really made the biggest difference was strength training before and throughout the pregnancy and keeping the weight gain at a reasonable level. It gets worse in subsequent pregnancies but in my case it actually got better because I made everything I could to prevent it. I’m now 24 weeks along the way with DC3 and it’s uncomfortable but under control.

Be aware that it’s usually a symptom of a minor misalignment of your pelvis. It’s hardly visible and very common actually to be not perfectly symmetrical. But as we age this can result in one hip joint getting worn faster than the other one, so strength training it’s super important to even these small misalignments out and prevent arthritis.
