I have low PAPP-A and I am 36 weeks today on my letter it says to stop the aspirin at 36 weeks but when I saw a consultant a few weeks ago for a scan she said to take it till the end and I'm unsure

37 weeks is classed as full term and it’s in case you deliver early so the aspirin is out of your system, or in case you need a c section. It’s got a 10 day life span (or rather 10% of the blood cells it binds to die each die so it takes 10 days for all the blood cells to have been replaced, which means 10 days for aspirin to be out of your system and with it the slight risk of increased blood loss) I have to take aspirin all the time due to APS, but also had low papp-a in both pregnancies. Delivery is at 37 weeks for me though. First hospital said to stop taking 10 days before my section, second hospital said I could keep taking right up until the night before as they will operate on up to 350mg. Lost 400ml blood both times.

if they say you can take it all the way through I would do that. Lots of things happen after 37 weeks - blood gets much thicker for example- and aspirin can often be a benefit in this case in terms of reducing the risk of clots (which all women are at risk of at the end and following pregnancy). for you. You don’t mention your age or weight but if you are over 35 and overweight it reduces other risks too.
