BFP attached below in correct order first one was friday morning 6/7am second yesterday morning 10:30. Third was this morning and darkest I’ve ever got x

I’ve had the exact same thing… but negative on digital?

kiana2015 · 01/12/2024 00:02

I took clear blue a few days before my period was due, can't remember exactly how many days. My positive looked like the darker one of yours and immediately after I took a digital and told me 1-2 weeks, I didn't use fmu for either but have heard some people say they didn't get a positive until they did and some people have even said the digital has not showed positive until a week later, not sure this helps x

that does help thank you I didn’t take the digital with fmu and I did drink a lot before as been out n about all day. So maybe that’s what’s caused the negative? Surely all these positives can’t be wrong as they’ve progressed quite well? X

Really common with the digitals. Same happened to me and was positive maybe 5 days later (I waited 5 days because they're so expensive, could have been positive sooner).
I read hundreds of MN threads saying the same to ease my worries so I wouldn't worry about it. Seems they need more HCG than strip tests. And like you said you were drinking fluids all day so diluting your urine x

Yeah that makes sense, I’ll wait until Tuesday to take a digital just give hcg time to rise. I just panicked after getting such a positive test then a negative digital. I’m sure on Tuesday my digital will pick it up as I’ve had a couple bfp x

@Chloeh0612 oh yes I remember! I can definitely see lines in the pink tests and the first clear blue one, but the later clear blue tests the lines look a bit thin, might just be the photo quality. Are you late on your period?

@Chloeh0612 yeah I do think these are early positives which might be why you had a negative on a digital. They should get darker every few days. When I first found out I was pregnant this time I used a clear blue and had a positive but it was light, I waited 4 days and it was so much darker.

Yeah I remember feeling the exact same panic. Wait a couple of days and do it again for peace of mind😊 Your pink dye tests are definitely positive congratulations! I wouldn't bother with clearblue strips as they always get lines when they dry out, even if negative. They're so misleading and unreliable. Not to mention expensive! So just stick with pink dye cheapy ones if you wish to keep testing is my only advice x

PaperSheet · 01/12/2024 10:15

I'd just stop using the clear blue tests regardless. Only use pink dye or digital. Even the cheap test strips on amazon are better.
The problem with clearblue (one of them. There are many problems), is even if you get a true positive that's very faint, it will often darken over time making you think it would show on a less sensitive digital.

With clearblue a totally negative test can then look positive later on due to the dye run/ evap lines. A very faint true positive that you can barely see at first, will often go the same way and look darker later as what you are seeing is another fucking evap/dye run on top of the positive.
So often in photos what could be a true positive to your eyes, we can often only see the thin evap over the top.
So honestly just don't use them until you're sure you're at least 4/5 weeks pregnant. Wait until a digital is positive. If you've had true positives on other tests for a few days it should show on a digital soon.
Even the nurses at the early pregnancy unit near me have told me to NEVER use the clearblue tests due to showing false positives/unreliable progression etc.

That’s so true clear blue have gave me evaps before but never this blue or thick! I couldn’t get any pink dyes in Asda so I’ll order some from Amazon. Then wait till Tuesday/Wednesday to take a digital but thank you! I wasn’t holding much hope for this cycle my body obviously proved me wrong! X

Thank you, I’m going to order some pink dye tests on Amazon for better progression for peace of mind and wait till next week to take my last digital. I think it was too early or too diluted

Sorry it took so long to reply! Yeah I’ve just ordered some pink dye tests from Amazon to get some better progression and peace of mind, I took my last clear blue line test just there and got a thick blue line, definitely not as dark as fmu as I’ve drank a lot today. I’ll attach a photo of tonight’s test x

Hey, yes I would agree the test line is as thick as the control line so fingers crossed for you. Do you know the sensitivity of the pink dye tests you've ordered?

I got the easy at home pink strip tests are they okay? I took that last clear blue as abit of reassurance. Also going to phone epu tomorrow once I’ve confirmed again with pink dye x

I've never used them, only clear blue and first response. I was only asking because different tests have different sensitivity so you may get a positive on one and a negative on another because of the sensitivity levels. I don't have any experience with the easy at home ones but I've seen quite a few posts where people have used them.

I think they are same sensitivity as clear blue early detection so hopefully get some good lines on them
