I'm not too clued up on how to read and convert these charts, how my bump is measuring, or how much my babyso estimated weight.

Can anyone read the chart or convert it for me please?

Thankyou in advance 🥰

It seems to be saying that your baby is a little below average at this time. But that's all it is, an average. I remember hearing an obstetrician telling a student "This baby is too small." Too small for who? I am only 145 cm / 4' 9" and DH is 5' 7". DS was never going to be a 6-footer. He was 2.5 kg / 5lb 2 oz when born and quite big enough for me! He was 2nd-9th centile for a few years and has settled as an adult at 5' 6". Smallish for a man, but gorgeous, healthy, clever and successful. I'm sure your baby is fine, but if you're worried, talk to your midwife.

I agree its on the lower side, but lower side of NORMAL. Have you asked your MW how things are going? Do you have other concerns?
I'm not sure what you mean by converting it? Converting it to what?

Autumngreenleaves · 30/11/2024 21:04

Your baby is doing just fine. It looks like he’s on approximately the 40th percentile. He’s perfectly in the normal range and there’s nothing to be concerned about at all.

The two darker lines are the top and bottom centile of 'average' and the line in the middle is 50%. The line above and below the darker lines are where they start going 'off the chart'. Your baby is perfectly healthy and a good size!

The weight is in grams but is in-between numbers - I'm not sure how to convert grams into lbs 🤣🤣

Thankyou! I'm not worried in anyway, my first son was 6.3lbs when he was born and was told he was on the smaller side once he was here! I'm only 5ft myself! My midwife just says to check online on the chart once it updates 🤣 xx

Amazing. Thankyou. I'm not worried at all, I was just intrigued in actually being able to read it. I'm only 5ft so not expecting a big baby 🤣🤣!

Amazing thankyou! I was just intrigued as I don't really understand the chart. Maths wasn't my forte in school 🤣🙈. I don't have any concerns. My firstborn was 6.3lbs when he was born and I'm only 5ft. xx

Thankyou for explaining that! I have no worries at all, just when I ask the midwife she tells me to refer to the chart but I was unable to make sense of it and converting the weight from grams into lbs is difficult for me haha. Thankyou x

What is that website again? My midwife told me to join and I will see the chart on it. I did join but since forgot the website. With my first it was all paper based. Ah never mind just found the email about it.

I just use google if need to convert measurements! Don't you?
The 2nd reading at 31 weeks looks to be about 1600g, which google says is 3.5 lbs.
