Hi , I have a pregnancy through ivf , and been prescribed aspirin and blood thinners for pre caution . I have had spotting since week 5 to 11 now , I am on blood thinners and aspirin . My question really is that is blood thinners a good idea while I have a pocket of blood in my womb , does that cause the spotting to be worse ? Should I stop both aspirin and blood thinning injections ? Thank you for any advice if anyone has been in similar situation :)

Hi OP, this is quite a specific medical question based on your specific circumstances so I would ask your doctors this so you get the right answer Smile

Why on earth would you come on MN with a very specific medical condition to find out if you should stop the medication given to you by your actual medical team????

I had the same thing and was on blood thinners and aspirin really early on. For me it didn't cause any issues at all but please do not stop taking prescribed medication until you speak with your medical team. My team prescribed it knowing about the blood.

In my case, I was also on blood thinning injections and 150 mg aspirin. My hematoma was small, dr said if actively bleeding, to stop everything for 2 weeks. I only bled for 1 day and 1 day spotting. For 2 weeks I did intermittent injections, one day yes one day no. However, my doctor was doing all my blood tests monthly so knew it wouldn't affect me. I don't have any blood clotting disorders either. It disappeared itself after a few weeks. From what I understood, they only worry if it's actively bleeding or too close to the baby; otherwise, they don't monitor them.
