Booking appt at 5.5 weeks?!

Hey guys, I’m 6 weeks today and I had my booking appt with a community midwife over the phone when I was less than 5.5 weeks pregnant? Is this normal!? I’ve already been booked in for my bloods which are next week when I’ll be 7 weeks. My 12 week scan has already been booked, and also a few other appointments. They’ve already booked me in for an appointment next June, which is a consultant appointment about VBAC. Surely this is way too early to be given all these appointments? I’m actually quite worried and nervous because I have a history of recurrent miscarriage, before I conceived DS who’s now 2. Last time my booking appt was at 10 weeks as far as I can remember and then bloods were a few days after that. I am so confused. Isn’t this way too early? What makes me more scared is that I have zero pregnancy symptoms, zero. The only thing I had was 2 positive pregnancy tests, and sometimes I have a bit of cramps that feel like the cramps I used to get before my period. Nothing else. I’m really excited about the pregnancy even though we weren’t at all trying, but I’m scared because it’s such early days and I’ve had 3 miscarriages before. Did anyone else have their appointments so early?

How long was the booking appointment telephone call? I've never heard of that happening. I've got my booking appointment when I'm 8 weeks along in person and it's supposed to last up to 90 minutes. I suppose it depends where you live, but I thought booking appointments were between 8 and 10 weeks, and aren't you supposed to get bloods done at that appointment to? X

Just after a quick look online it says between 8 to 12 weeks for your booking appointment. Might be worth ringing them and asking why they've put you in so early. I can understand why you're stressed x

In my area they sometimes do an “early bird” booking and then you have a second appointment later in the first trimester for the bloods, is it similar in your area? I can understand being nervous because of your history of miscarriage, but realistically there’s a greater chance of the pregnancy progressing than not, and it’s good they are being so proactive.

It was definitely the booking appointment, the community midwife said and she gave me my login and everything for the BadgerNotes app too which is where they give all the appointments. The appointment was around an hour long

It sometimes depends on how busy or not busy they are. They can fit you in earlier if they have the slot

It's also normal to have dates of your future appointments already sorted too. It's a good thing.

I had a late booking appointment with one of mine and ended up missing the time range where they wanted to take bloods for something, can't remember what.
