DUE DATE

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me work it out as my brain math ain’t mathing.

We’d like to have another baby 2025 and ideally we’d like a late November baby ( late 30’s and the clocks ticking). The problem is I start a new roll Jan 7th. I know I need to be in a roll to be covered for maternity leave, do I need to fall pregnant late Jan or Feb to align dates (obviously it’s highly likely it won’t).

I cant work it out and the due date calendars online aren’t helping!

Looking at the online calculators, you would need to fall pregnant in mid/late Feb depending on the date of the first day of your period at that time, to have a late november baby. I wouldn't get too set on the month of birth though as things are never an exact science. We always joke my second baby was born in the wrong year as she was due boxing day but came January 4th!

Also I would look at the maternity policy for your new role as many state you have to be employed for a specified amount of time and getting pregnant only a month or two into employment may not be long enough to get their full package. You'd likely be covered for SMP but don't quote me on that, best to check.

A few years ago I conceived around the 14th feb, last period 31st Jan. The due date would have been about 7th November if I remember but I miscarried.

I would treat predicting due dates as the earliest possible date and all the stars would have to align for you to get it!

You might conceive first month so if finances would be tricky don't start until you have that protection. I'm pregnant for the third time. Two it took 3-4 months and one 1-2 months but this resulted in a miscarriage at 10 weeks. I'm pregnant again. I started my TTC number 2 journey in August 2023, I was on medication incompatible with pregnancy and it took until April 2024 to switch it out for safe medication. My due date is July 2025 and still in the corridor if uncertainty with this pregnancy

Just be careful with your dates. I started a new role on 1 August. My LMP before conception started a couple of days later and I conceived that cycle. When my pregnancy was dated, it was dated before my start date (no idea how that's possible) but as a result I didn't qualify for SMP and had to apply for maternity allowance, which was a bit of an annoyance.
