Advice for possible prolapse!?

Hi guys, just looking for some advise so I gave birth nearly 3 months ago now and I have recently started to get pain again in my pelvic floor so I decided to have a feel around and I instantly felt a huge bulging inside my vagina which has scared me quite a lot. Is this a prolapsed pelvic floor?? If so does it a go away on its own. I will be booking into the doctor’s next week. I‘m only 28 and I hope it’s not something I feel have to cope with for the rest of my life.❤️

Do not panic. It could simply be vaginal wall. Mine isn't the same after my baby and many women are like this.

If it is a prolapse then a women's physio can really help, depending on which part is prolapsing.

@UpUpUpU thank you for your advice. I would hope for it just to be the vaginal wall but I’m really unsure. It just makes feel sick to think there’s something just there inside. I’ve got a feeling that it’s the uterus that’s prolapsed. Can I ask what was your symptoms? X

I have a prolapse (lots can be done try not to worry - pelvic floor physio is a godsend) but they tend not to hurt per se - you might feel a bulge or like a tampon is in wrong but if you're having pain it could be something else.

Hi guys. So I have just recently seen the doctor and she said there’s no prolapse?? She said it’s just changes to the vagina once had a baby. I did stress to her this bludge was not there after I had the baby it literally came in the last few weeks with pain. My boyfriend says it’s definitely a prolapse even he can see it. I’m at a lost of what to do. Any advise 😫😫

The vaginal wall does get lower after childbirth, it never looks the same as before Shock If the doctor has seen and says that then I would probably think this is what it is. Pelvic floor exercises help a smidge, if your still concerned see a different doc and ask to be referred to the physio who can help you with things x

@BusyCaz hi thanks for reply, can this happen later on in postpartum? Because this bulging was not there 2 weeks ago? I would have thought it would happen soon I gave birth. I have also started to experience pains with it xx

I would deffo go back to her or another doc and be referred, don't be fobbed off if your in pain with it. Did she check with a speculum or just have a look? Could be a higher up prolapse she missed?

Ask to be referred to a women’s physio. You might need to be examined standing up and GPs seem to be a bit odd about doing this!

Kayleyanniex · 26/11/2024 14:30

@BusyCaz yes she saw used one of those and she said she can see the lump.. but says not a prolapse it’s just from a vaginal delivery? It almost feels I can feel something there and it feels heavy. Unfortunately there’s only that gp and one other that works at the practice so I may need to look around. I can see the lump myself when I use the mirror, it’s like slightly up but covers the entire entrance.

If its got ridges it is mist likely the wall, the womb is smooth x

Don't worry OP. 3 months after birth isn't very long at all. A lot will change over the next few months.

But my advice is to book privately to see a woman's physio/have a new mums mot. Unlikely to be prolapse, but even if it is it can be corrected with exercise.

Sk1sk0 · 26/11/2024 20:03

OP I had the same thing, a bulge but quite far back and everything felt different, this only happened 3/4 months pp. i got checked out by gp and 2 private gynos and both said similar, that it’s just vaginal changes from birth and the way it is now. Doing kegels religiously and some exercises provided by a woman’s physio helped a lot but tbh it never felt the same again I just got used to it. Pregnant with number 2 now and it’s changing all over again! If you have been looked at try not to worry, maybe as pps have said get a second opinion but try not to worry too much. I’m 28 too and let the anxiety of it all take up far too much of my time in hindsight! Enjoy baby and give yourself time to heal.
