Contractions?

Hey everyone.
I'm 40+1 and I've been having on and off pains in my lower stomach and back for 3 days. I went up to the hospital yesterday morning because I was bleeding and they just told me it's my body getting ready for labour. I had a sweep and was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced.
Am I currently in show labour? I feel like the contractions are worst when I'm laying down so I'm trying to walk as much as I can - in the yoga ball but I've had 3 nights of no sleep. I'm exhausted and idk how I will get through labour if I can't sleep😫.
Am I making it up or am i in early labour? I need to know because I'm not sure I can do much more of the not sleeping and the terrible back pain with no light at the end of the tunnel 😫

You could very well be, this is exactly how my first labour started.
I hadn't slept for 3 days either before being admitted and it was absolutely miserable so I do really feel for you. A lot of the pain was in my back as well and it turned out that baby was back to back.
I remember going in and being told I was just experiencing braxton hicks and that I wasn't in labour, despite being 40+3 at that point. I phoned them back 24 hours later and begged to be seen as I was borderline hysterical at that stage. When I got in and was examined I was actually 3cm and baby was born 12-14 hours later. Things can change very quickly so just because you went in yesterday it doesn't mean the situation is still the same, so I would say if things are feeling worse or not getting any better then phone them back and ask to be seen.

Thank you! I went to triage because I wasn't happy with baby's movements - she was ok but they offered me another sweep. Was 2cm and the midwife said they could feel her ear when they was doing it😂 been having constant pains every 3 mins since so hoping it stays this way

@Nat78 how exciting! How are you feeling this morning? I imagine you haven't had much sleep again.

Sorry I just see this! On the 25th I had my baby girl. Had an emergency c section as I had sepsis due to my waters breaking that morning and my labour didn't progress

Congratulations!
Sounds very similar to what happened to me. I also ended up with an EMCS for similar reasons. Hope your recovery has been ok.
