Hyperemersis

Hi all, I don't know if I am asking the impossible but I would desperately love another child. However in my previous pregnancies I suffered with horrendous hyperemersis which is making me so anxious to try. I tried different standard tablets but never seemed to get on top of it. I just wondered if anyone had managed to find something which helped/cured it or has any advice? Many thanks

I threw up at least once a day with DD and lost 2 stone but with DS it wasn't as bad. No guarantees I know but maybe a glimmer of hope?
I wasn't working by then though so could manage more of a slow get up and eat something and no driving all over the place and not eating regularly either.
I found ginger tea helped, sometimes I couldn't even drink it but sniffing the warm steam from it did.
Good luck whatever you decide x

I don't want to be negative but I'm going to share anyway - 3rd pregnancy HG with the last 2, horrendous nausea with my 1st - I seem to be getting progressively worse. Mix of girls and boys. Not sure I could do another pregnancy 😔
My story isn't every one's but I wanted to highlight no one will really know how good or bad you'll have it.

I had terrible HG with DC1 (girl), it was really debilitating until about 24 weeks. It was much milder with DC2 (boy), thankfully.

With all respect that’s not hyperemesis. I was hospitalised several times in my first and third pregnancies (boy and girl) but pretty textbook in my others. I didn’t do anything different so can’t offer any advice except take your chances

With all respect I think that vomitting on average 5 or 6 times a day and losing 2 stones could well be called hyperemesis, well thats what my GP said anyway.
Admittedly I didn't spend the night in hospital but I spent a few hours several times in the maternity unit on a drip

I have 3 DCs and unfortunately I was really sick for the whole 9 months on all of them. Threw up for the last time in the delivery suite 😥I was hospitalised every 10 days or so for IV fluids. I was actually really really grateful to Princess Catherine at the time because she brought HG into the mainstream media and that helped when well-meaning friends and family made largely useless suggestions thinking it was normal run of the mill morning sickness.

I know this sounds horrendous BUT there was a massive upside that few people talk about.

By the time each baby arrived (even with 2 under 5 and a newborn) I was invincible. I hit the ground running and the whole postpartum period was a breeze, even with my first when it was all new.

I felt almost superhuman as I could do anything because I wasn't barfing 10 times a day.

I had debilitating HG in both pg. in and out of hospital over the course of 8 weeks in both. Second time seemed worse, but that could have been because I also had a 2 year old to look after.

There's a new drug on NHS called xonvea. It is absolutely incredible! You can take up to 6 tablets a day. 2 night, morning and lunch.

It's so good I only needed 2 a night to get under control and now tapered down to 1
