Moving back to the UK during pregnancy

Morning Everyone,

I currently live overseas with DH and DD1 aged 4 but we are relocating back to the UK soon. I'm 21+3 now, I'll be 25 weeks when we move.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this and what you have done regarding your maternity care - I don't even have a GP in the UK at the moment, would the first step be to register with one? Do I just self refer to the midwives as normal?

I've had good maternity care where I am now so scans at 6+1, 8+2, 10+5, 13+6, 18+6 and last one will be at 22+5 I've done the advanced NIPT which was low risk but it's a high risk pregnancy due to maternal age (soon to be 42), previous pre eclampsia, previous low birth weight and ELCS so I'm sure it will be consultancy led.

Would I need my notes from over here translated or is it ok to just verbally update them on my care so far?

I'll be getting back just before Christmas and just wondering where to start really

Hi, I moved back to the uk from Dubai when I was around 30 weeks pregnant. I think I called the midwives and self-referred which was quite straight forward. However I already had a GP so I think that would be the place to start! Maybe try and get registered with GP first and then they’d be able to tell you help you with your midwife referral. Good luck!

regarding notes, I remember them being keen to do their own tests / scans so I think I had some bloods and my anomoly repeated on the nhs. But I also had all my notes from Dubai printed in case, I can’t remember if they used them or not!
