20 weeks and no movement yet?

I am 20 weeks pregnant today. I don’t think I’ve felt any movement yet and I am starting to freak out. I do have an anterior placenta. However, I am tall (5’7) and thin (BMI of 20).

I had an anatomy scan 5 days ago and it showed her growing well (measured 2 days ahead and in the 47th percentile for weight). She was moving around at the scan and the tech was able to get all the measurements and photos needed in 30 minutes. Baby was super cooperative.

I know having an anterior placenta can delay feelings of movement. However, being thin can also make you feel them sooner.90% of the posts I read from thin women with an anterior placenta were feeling something by now!

I have felt extremely minor muscle twitches on my pelvic area that only last a split second when they happen. So not sure if it’s baby or just my body. Because I get the same sensation randomly in other parts of my body.

anyone else in the same situation and everything was fine? I do have anxiety, but I also just have a bad feeling she’s not okay (although I’ve had this feeling throughout my pregnancy before every appointment and everything has always been perfect lol). I just feel in my gut that I’ll never feel her move.

is this concerning? Shouldn’t I feel something now given that I am thin?

Try not to worry, I think that's normal. I didnt feel anything until about 23 weeks and I'm a similar build to you. Is this your first baby? I think the first babies take longer for us to feel movement.
If you're worried definitely ask for an appointment to check everything is okay and to put your mind at ease xx

I’m 26 weeks with twins! And I’m not feeling much movement of the twin with the anterior placenta. Scan shows them both fine and growing. X

You tend to feel movements later in your first pregnancy and even more so with an anterior placenta - I had that with my first and felt nothing until at least 22/23 weeks. She was moving like crazy at my 20 week scan and I literally couldn't feel a thing.

Anything from 16-24 weeks is classed as normal so you're right in the middle of that. No need for any worry.

I'm pregnant with my second now and you're supposed to feel second and subsequent pregnancies earlier, plus I have a posterior placenta this time. I've been expecting to feel something for the last month but I'm 21 weeks today and have only just in the last 2 or so days felt even the slightest of flutters. It's different for everyone

I have an anterior placenta and I first felt her move around 18 weeks but it's my third pregnancy. My first pregnancy I had a posterior placenta and I didn't feel him move until around 19 weeks. The movements at first are so slight you can often mistake them for something else. I think especially with first pregnancies it's really not uncommon to not feel anything until up to 24 weeks. If you are feeling twitches low down this could very well be movement because at your gestation your uterus has not yet expanded above your belly button.

My first was anterior placenta and I started feeling around 22 weeks. This time it’s posterior and I have felt the odd movement from 17 weeks.

Don't worry OP. I too had an anterior placenta, I'm tall (5ft 9) and very slim (somehow didn't show even a hint of a bump until way past 24 weeks!), and I only started feeling slight movements from 22 weeks.

I think baby was tucked in so well as even by my due date I only really looked about 6months pregnant, but baby was a healthy 7lbs6oz.
