Elevated Alkaline phosphatase levels

I'm trying not to worry, but hoping someone can give me some reassurance in the time between getting some blood test results before I can speak to my midwife.

I am nearly 33 weeks pregnant and am having weekly blood tests as I have high blood pressure and they are keeping an eye that it doesn't develop into Pre-eclampsia. So far everything is ok and my BP is largely controlled with medication.

The only thing on my liver tests is that in the past two weeks my Alkaline phosphatase levels have increased from within the normal range (130) up to 200. I have read this is normal in the 3rd trimester but also have read it can be associated with negative outcomes like pre-term birth. Can anyone provide some reassurance so I pull myself out of a Google hole? (I am being treated for health anxiety for context)

Ive just had liver bloods in preparation for ttc as in my last pregnancy my ALT was high. That is now normal but my alkaline phosphatase is high and my GP said had I already been trying as pregnancy can cause it. So just to reassure it can just be caused by pregnancy

@SnowSnow thanks for replying. Yes I think I am reassured it can just be a normal thing in pregnancy, but sometimes my brain just latches onto things because it likes being anxious.

Good luck with TTC!

Elevated alk phos is mostly ignored in pregnancy as it can just be elevated because of pregnancy itself. Unless of course it's off the charts ridiculously high, which yours isn't. Once the other tests are normal I'd ignore this one in isolation
