Anxiety during pregnancy

Before I start (27 weeks ) with posterior placenta. This is my first pregnancy.

I've been on a monitor at the hospital where I am supposed to press button every time I feel kicks but during that time I felt nothing however monitor picked up lots of movements and all scans everything has come back normal/healthy but for the life of me I don't feel movement as much as other mums. Now occasionally during the day I feel what I'm not sure is flutters /proper kicks/ but not all day and hours without nothing inbetween , some days hardly anything however when I touch my stomach/rub my belly baby never responds . Baby doesn't really respond to sweet foods but the occasional decaf tea I feel a slight flutter ... all I have is anxiety

I have 13 weeks until I give birth maybe less and worried if baby will be born healthy if I hardly feel her . They did say my baby is 38 centile , idk if that could also be a reason I can't feel her much because she's a little bit small. So as I'm a first time mum I don't know what's right and what's wrong .

Has anyone been in this situation and delivered a healthy baby. Please ease my anxiety . Again everything been fine at hospital but I just don't feel her hardly.

I was exactly the same in my first pregnancy OP and sorry to say, I had issues with reduced/ no movements right up till the end - I was actually on fault monitoring the last 2 weeks!
Same as you, I'd feel nothing but the monitor was picking up plenty - also on scans she'd be moving like crazy but I wouldn't feel a thing! Very, very stressful so you have my full sympathies - DD1 was completely healthy when born and is now a very healthy 4 year old.

I never found out why I couldn't feel much. I'm tall and average weight but carry my weight around the hips/ thighs so not a lot of belly fat.

I'm currently 20 weeks with my second child and not had a single feeling of movements yet. Already preparing myself that this pregnancy will be the same as last time!

My baby didn't respond to me rubbing belly/eating sugar etc, but he was born healthy, and is a healthy active 9 month old, clearly bright, curious and strong.

Try to engage in active relaxation and enjoy the reminder of your pregnancy. You'll need your strength for the 4th trimester!

I'm so glad that your baby was born healthy, this gives me hope that everything can also be fine with my pregnancy. Even the midwife's were confused why I can't feel movements even tho the monitor picked up loads of movements . Very strange . I'm glad someone else has had my experience also congratulations on your second pregnancy .

I'm so glad your baby is born healthy. I guess I was just comparing myself to other mums and felt like something was wrong .

Yep, I hear you. My experience of movements was not dissimilar to yours. It can be hard not to compare but listen to what medical professionals are telling you about ,your* baby. That's all that matters.

Hey, I'm in quite a similar position actually. 27 weeks and first pregnancy, tho I have a front placenta. I was worried because I wasn't really feeling any kicks etc, and to be honest I am only now starting to feel something (usually at night time when I go to bed.) My anxiety/ocd is generally quite bad anyway, and has flared up a lot more now that I'm pregnant. So you have my sympathies and understanding!

My baby seems healthy but is also small, measuring at the 10th percentile. This has worried me a lot but I am just trying to take it one day at a time. You're definitely not alone x
