Pressure and sore down there?

Hi! FTM here. I'm currently almost 19 weeks pregnant and what has grown increasingly worse is the pressure down there, my midwife advised pelvic floor exercises which I'm doing but the pressure seems a lot worse at night time when I'm in bed!

What I've found too, and am wondering if anyone else has had this as it's such an odd feeling... I feel VERY swollen and sore down there. Not internally, but just the external skin around my vagina. It's also itchy at night time. I know thrush is very common but I don't think I've had it that many times so I'm unsure if that's what it is... any thoughts? I do have some snot like discharge but no creamy, thick discharge like Google suggests. Also have noticed a change in smell down there but nothing "offensive". I shave down there too so wondering if it's a nappy rash situation as it's the part of my vagina that touches my underwear (and underwear seems like it is also always very wet at the moment) 😂

So sorry for the TMI... has anyone had this? Should I book an appointment to look at thrush? I've found the pressure very intense to the point I have to take my underwear off when I'm sleeping cause even that contact is very uncomfortable/sore/itchy. Not sure if it's just the pelvic pressure and hormones causing it. Thanks mamas

Itchiness and swelling suggests an infection, so yes you'd be right to see your GP/midwife

I became allergic to my washing powder in my second pregnancy (fairy, the irony 🤣) ended up using hypoallergenic washing sheets, and still do because it came back between kids, when washing my pants.
I'm pregnant with my third and used some softener in a wash the other day forgetting my pants were in their and again swollen, itchy and sore.
Could be worth a try?

In one of my pregnancies I had the joy of vulval varicose veins. The pressure/swollen feeling was something else

No cure, just rest with your legs raised, use KY jelly to reduce friction from movement, and wait it out. It was one of the worst parts of pregnancy for me.

Worth asking your GP or midwife if this is what it could be.

I suffered from varicose veins in my last pregnancy and think I can feel them starting again in this one too.
they feel like pressure/aching/throbbing when I’ve been on my feet too long so could be that xx

I haven't noticed them as of yet but I've heard about them! I posted on here the other day about the pelvic pain and I feel sooooo swollen down there, very sore and itchy (I think it's thrush, going to the GP on Monday) but no, haven't noticed the veins. I do think that's more common than you'd think! Lots of pregnancy issues that no one talks about I think ha

I don't want to worry you and overreact but a lot of women who have premature labour and cervix issues describe feeling pressure. The snot like discharge may well be some of your mucus plug. I would be contacting triage this and asking to be seen because you may have an infection and/or cervix shortening prematurely.

Obviously I hope its nothing but I would rather be sure about it.
