Hello all. I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself. I'm still waiting for the 'blloming' stage (personally I think this might be a fabricated joke idea put in all the pregnancy guidebooks to keep flagging moral levels up!!). Unfortunately I'm still feeling and occasionally being sick, I still can't tolerate food smells and I still haven't eaten a meal in months (just eating bread, cereal and fruit) as I can't face hot food, vegetables etc. etc. Is anyone else the same? Don't mean to moan but just wondered if there was light at the end of the tunnel? Any advice appreciated!

Poor you dobbins, can sympathise- any amount of morning sickness is miserable and 19 weeks is a blimmin long time to suffer! Not surprised you're feeling a bit down. I'm nearly 30 weeks and although I only vomit very occasionally now (apart from first thing in the morning when I brush my teeth which is a guaranteed vom-fest) I'm still feeling sick 24/7 too. Had hyperemesis for a while but now it's "just" (ha!) regular morning sickness. It's so weird, it's not full on ms like during the first bit of being pg but the relentless nausea is hard to deal with and very wearing, I so agree about the waiting to bloom bit!.

Have you tried sucking sweets? Murray mints really helped for a while, now I chomp on Wrigleys Extra blue chewing gum almost continually and this seems to really help. Making sure I eat regularly really helps too - ok for regularly read constantly- just little things, eg this morning I had my normal 2 slices of toast for brekkie in the car, then as soon as I got to work had a plum followed swiftly by a banana then an apple and about 10 mins later a yoghurt- you get the idea ;) (there might have been a double decker afterwards too)

Also make sure you are really well hydrated- being dehydrated increases the likelihood of ketones in your body and these have the unfortunate effect of making you feel sick, so it can be a bit of a vicious circle.

Really good luck, fingers crossed it won't last too much longer and if it does you find something that works. Chin up chick!

Hi there Dobbins, Miserable isnt it? My little one is 2 and half now and i can still remember feeling like you. My sympathy goes out to you, as no one seems to understand how rubbish you feel!

I tried lots of things and the most effective was Aniseed Imperial sweets! They were a god send, (made by trebor, i think). They seemed to take the edge off that travel sicky feeling! I tried those sea bands that you wear on your wrists. Not sure if they did anything, but were tight and uncomfortable which took my mind off it a bit!!!!

Just eat what ever you fancy, and one day you will wake up and that nasty sickness will be gone, hoorah! Try the aniseed sweets though, they are fantastic. Best of Luck

Yes I agree with Minkus, You must eat regularly, I ate every fifteen mins or so, even if it was a boiled sweet, dried fruit, biscuit , piece of apple etc etc. This will maintain your sugar level and hopefully stop that nasty sicky feeling. A bit of toothpaste on the tongue first thing in the morning worked a treat for me too!

Thank you for all the advice. Also find that constant sucking on a sweet/eating a piece of fruit helps. (hope I have some teeth left by the end of my pregnancy!) I wonder if I'm not drinking enough- will try to drink more.

Can't wait to feel better- just can't imagine life without this constant sicky feeling!
