I know I'm inside the '2cm' guide but am now slightly paranoid that baby is not growing. Anyone else had this? Have a scan next week ( low lying placenta at 20wks) so guess that will pick up any problems. Just worrying that's all!! Apart from that baby is extremely active and likes to wedge his feet under my ribs on a regular basis.

I think this is very normal. I was always a cm or two either way.
The measurements are only a guide.
Good you have a check up to put your mind at rest.

I had this for the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I was always 1-2 cms smaller than my dates.

I'm sure all is fine DD2 is 5 weeks old now and fine, she is a bit of a tiddler, 7lbs 2oz at birth and still only 8lbs 7oz now. You are within the normal range and is not very precise measurement anyway.

I'm measuring 1 cm over at the moment (33+4)... I'm not too worried about it... Apparently it can really vary depending in their position

I measured 3 cm less than dates at about this stage. They fussed lots and sent me for a scan. Woman doing scan said that everything was on the 50th percentile and she was constantly being sent perfectly healthy pregnancies because of this (the vast majority were fine). My baby was born 7lb 5oz. Impression I got was that even outside of the 2cm thing most babies are absolutely fine and that the measurements are v. inaccurate due to differences in where people measure from, build of mother etc. Am sure it will be fine and good that you have scan anyway to check.

I know some MW's have stopped using the tape measure as it is a guide only and is not accurate. My consultant does not bother at all.

Thanks for the reassurance guys. Not overly worried and definately not worried if I don't have a huge baby at birth! Midwife said it's quite normal if you're quite 'fit and toned'. Hhhmmmm wouldn't use toned to describe myself [hmn] and not exactly fit either!!

If you think about it - surely it can't work accurately as people are different heights? I mean, a tall person won't have such a pronounced bump will they? Also, I had a tiny bump compared to my friend at antenatal who was due exact same day as me and had a huge one. DD was nearly 9lbs and her son was just shy of 7lbs.
