Have appointment this week regarding vbac or a second c section, I know both have pros and cons and some people can't be offered vbac etc. Just wondering what others chose and how they got on

I chose a vbac and it was cathartic in some ways, but if I could do it again I would choose a planned c section.

I choose a vbac. If i had my time again i would go for the elective section. I have had a previous section and felt the recovery was easier and faster. Good luck x

I had an amazing vbac and found the experience very healing after a traumatic emergency c section with my first. Thees some very helpful Facebook groups out there where you can get support

I opted for an elective second time round after an emergency the first time.
In many ways I'm really glad I did, but I do sometimes wonder if I'd have opted for a vbac whether it would have been a much smoother experience than the first labour. I'm now pregnant with my third and was advised straight away to have an elective as I'd already had two sections, so that's maybe something to consider if you planning on having more than two.
It's such a personal choice but where I had a lot of anxiety during my last pregnancy around the first birth I felt that having a scheduled date was easier to prepare myself for.

I had a great VBAC and will try again for a vaginal delivery with DC3. But I would have had a c-section if they'd have wanted me to be induced. It's really personal. Depends a lot on why you had the first c-section I think. Good luck!

I went with a planned elective. No regrets whatsoever, it was a very positive experience.
I personally didn’t feel any draw to the idea of another attempted vaginal birth as a form of healing previous trauma.

I had a VBAC after a traumatic CS. It was 19 hours of back to back labour that ended with an episiotomy but for me, it was preferable to the CS in every way. It's a very personal decision though and you have to do what feels right for you.

I went for a planned section. As soon as I read a vbac has a 10% risk of a third degree tear my choice was confirmed. I knew I had recovered from a section before I didn’t see the need to risk anything else, and had quite a few friends have surgery anyway or bad recoveries from natural births it really put me off.
