Just trying to see if anyone else has been there or currently going through it.
had a busy few days, organising, celebrating, driving, on my feet etc.
really sharp pain in both bum cheeks and my hips hit, my lower back..
lots of movement from baby
but I woke up and could barely walk today!

tips advice and tell me it’s normal?
I probably need to start taking it easy 😅 but afraid if I do labour will start early… I’m 34-35 weeks

I’d probably start taking it a bit slower ☺️ I’m only 26 weeks but I get really bad backache and the midwife said I need to rest more. I try and stay a little active as my back seizes up if I’m not moving a lot. One thing that’s helped me is pregnancy massage - I’m lucky enough to have someone on my road who does it and it’s cheaply priced so I go every other week (!) but even just after one session with her my backache and hips hurt much less - see if you can get one in - great for chilling you out and oxytocin ☺️☺️

Yes it's normal.
I'm 31 weeks tomorrow (third baby), feels like my vagina is twice the size today. Some days I feel completely normal, other days I get a lot of pelvis/vagina pain. I do tend to find if I'm busy and not resting as much it's worse obviously.

So this isn’t an indication of Labour coming early I assume?

Haha unlikely, but I do see your train of thought. Just standard good old third trimester unfortunately!

Which area are you in for pregnancy massage ?

Spirallingdownwards · 21/10/2024 20:07

Are you wearing a support belt? They are really helpful with this type of pain.

Tips from when I was having this issue:

  • When you sleep, make sure your mattress is really soft by putting extra blankets or duvet under your sheets. Then, put a pillow between your legs if laying on your side, or under your knees if lying on your back.

  • Get a support belt if you can

  • Stretch your hips a few times a day by sitting on a chair, feet on floor, and then cross your left ankle on top of your right knee. Gently push down on your left knee and you should feel the stretch in the problem area you described. Then swap and do the other leg.

This is all the info I got from the hospital when I had the same problem and it did work.

Are you doing any exercise? I’ve started doing the birth prep exercises and lots of crab walks and clam exercises, these are meant to help a lot! Contrary to the advice about resting, I find my body feels worse when I’ve been really sedentary and much better when I’ve worked out and done my stretches. I’m constantly being sent pregnancy workout videos on instagram, I’m sure you are too! Try some of them :)
