Hi,

My husband and I have been ttc, I am late 30s he is early 40s.

We have both been trying to be as healthy as possible but stupidly when DTD during the fertility window we used Liquid Silk lube.

I thought this was water based and wouldn't be harmful but yesterday read the ingredients and there are parabens amongst other things present. That packaging does say this is not a spermicide.

I am panicking now that a damaged or chemical affected sperm could now make contact with the egg and affect the fetus.

We haven't had problem conceiving in the past just this time needed a bit of lubrication as we were DTD often....

I'm so scared, any positive stories?

@Humptydumptydone we decided liquid silk probably stopped us conceiving the month we used it, but I don't think it could cause any issues as a one off if you did happen to conceive this month. Any impact of parabens I imagine would be during the 3 months an egg is maturing (or 2 weeks or whatever it is for sperm!).

Just reread sorry so it was a month and then you ditched it

conceived baby number 1 whilst using liquid silk and now a perfectly healthy toddler.. also conceived baby number 2 using liquid silk by accident (despite the morning after pill!)
I honestly wouldn’t worry

I mean it's not recommended but my friend conceived while drinking heavily and taking recreational drugs. Through her pregnancy

She only found out she was pregnant 2 days before giving birth when she went to the doctors with back pain and they said "ah it's the baby"
Her "what fucking baby?"

He's an adult now Smile all fine

What's done is done.

@Humptydumptydone

Pre seed lubricant is your friend.

I struggled to conceive and this my dear friend solved our problem.

Try it.

It's magic stuff.

And don't have too narrow a TTC window. 1 or 2 days after your period has cleared, do the deed every other day and maybe every day between CD 10-20. it's made a lot easy and less of a chore with pre seed 😜

Interesting, just checked ingredients and this has paraben present too. Maybe more common than I think...
