Anyone else had persistent headaches?? This is baby no 4 and I’ve not had headaches with the others. It’s been going on over a week probably two weeks, starts about an hour after I wake up and it’s like a pressure/tension headache, lasts all day, paracetamol not helping much and I don’t want to keep taking it all the time. Of course Google says it’s 100% definitely a brain tumour, am thinking it’s probably pregnancy related somehow (not high BP was tested last week) has anyone had this and how long did it last?

I had this with my first pregnancy, although often they were more migrainey type headaches. I think they gradually got better around 18/19 weeks.

Hi - I’ve had this too. I’m 25 weeks now and still have quite bad headaches that start off when I wake up as tension headaches but progress to migraines. I try and drink as much water as possible in the morning and get fresh air if I can which helps a little. Unfortunately all you can do is take paracetamol and rest - my doctor signed me off for a week and I slept for most of it and the migraines decreased. I also go for pregnancy massages every 2 weeks (I know bougie but my neighbour does them!) and these have helped as I think some of it may be down to side sleeping and tension in my neck and shoulders.
I have one today and I can’t shift it at all. I really feel for you they are rubbish!

I had this. It was sinus headache. First pregnancy I went to acupuncture to clear it after suffering for months. Second pregnancy the pharmacist told me I could take sinus tablets so I took them for one day, it cleared and didn't come back.

@Whatnextaaaahhh like Sudafed? I’ve been avoiding that as I thought we couldn’t take it, I do feel like it could be sinus related as it started after a cold 🤔 I’ve done steam and it helped but it just came back again.

I get migraines regularly when not pregnant. When I was pregnant, I got them less frequently in the first trimester, then I had a cluster of them between about 11 and 14 weeks, then none at all for the rest of the pregnancy (it was bliss!). I understand migraines at that point between first and second trimester are quite common, I think it was maybe the midwife who told me that. Maybe mention it to your midwife and see if they can advise?

I had headaches around 15 weeks too, did lots of googling, but most likely it came back as tension and hormones. They eased off after that and now at 20 weeks not really having any. I found a little caffeine helped - I've been off tea and diet coke which I usually drink as they've made me feel sick, but found that having a coke actually helped (obviously within daily limit). Not sure if that's helpful but it did help me a bit.

Thanks @strawberry11 I’ll try anything at this point!!

I'm pregnant for the second time and have been suffering from awful headaches for the last month or so (I'm currently 16+4).
My doctor said it was hormone related and normal in pregnancy, although I never had them with my first until developing pre-eclampsia in the 3rd trimester (which was a different type of headache anyway!).
