Hi all, I had a uterine abnormality which was fixed earlier this year. I'm currently 21+1. I've been having my cervical length scans at the preterm clinic and have gone from 30mm at 17 weeks to 26/27mm at 21 weeks. The consultant said she was being conservative. They don't seem worried. My next scan is in 2 weeks when ill be 23 weeks. I'm on progesterone and sitting around as much as I can
Should I be worried? I'm hoping that my body can do this!

Try and relax, which I know is easy for me to say. If the consultant isn’t worried, I wouldn’t be either.
Trust in your body and the professionals supporting you.
You got this!

@Peaches1407 I had cervical length scans with my first and am currently 14 weeks with my 2nd, waiting until 16 weeks to start my scans. With my first I had similar - good length to start and then boarder line 'short' at second scan. I was at my wits end with worry waiting for the next scan. At the time I didn't see the consultant, just had the scan and then was sent home, but I felt so anxious about the fact that it was shortening, I wasn't even on progesterone and was just sent home to wait and see if it continued to shorten. I ended up asking to speak to the consultant who did prescribe progesterone, which I continued to take until around 32 weeks with no issues. I would say that because you're already on progesterone you've a very good chance of everything being OK, certainly until your next scan, and then if they see that it's shortened further they may very well do a stitch. I'd try to relax and feel confident that you're taking what you need already and being kept a very close eye on xx

Thank you! Did you take two pessaries a day of progesterone? Did they ever advise on pelvic rest?

I've just had a 2nd scan at 24 weeks and my cervix has shortened and is now below the 25mm so consultant has prescribed progesterone for 6 weeks.

Consultant didn't seem concerned and I asked if I should rest etc.. and she said no need to just carry on as normal just nothing too strenuous.

I don't have another length scan booked so not sure if they're going to check again or just carry on as I was only just under 25mm.

@Peaches1407 yes two a day, no pelvic rest prescribed but I did choose to try and take it a bit easier x
