Hello all, I had a miscarriage 3 weeks ago. I was 11 weeks. The bleeding afterwards went on until 14 days past miscarriage, albeit very very light the last few days, only just visibly pink when wiping.

2 days after I stopped bleeding I had ewcm, more than I'd ever noticed during ovulation before and I had cramping for a few days. Again I don't normal feel ovulation at all. I'm not sure if that's what it was.

I still had very faint squinting lines on a pregnancy test until today, so 3 days post ewcm, when I've had my first negative test. It is now 3 weeks 5 days past miscarriage.

We DTD anyway a few times over that couple of days. I'm now waiting for a week and half to test for new pregnancy and honestly I'm struggling to think of much else.
I'm desperate to be pregnant again, the baby was so wanted. Doctors have said I've no reason to wait other than the usual issue of dating the pregnancy if I haven't left it a cycle beforehand.

Sorry the the ramble, I'm just looking for others experiences with this. Have you been successful first time? Have you had a long wait to conceive again? Any stories welcome.

Thank you!

Sorry to hear of your position OP. I had an early MC, finished that cycle and was pregnant again the next, so probably six weeks later. He’s a strapping 18yo now.

Someone told me you are at your most fertile after birth or a MC but I don’t know how true that is.

catcurl · 04/10/2024 05:00

I'm so sorry for your loss, it is so hard. I had a MMC, found it a very traumatic experience all round but conceived my first proper cycle after. Was a very anxious pregnancy but found it healing too. Now have a beautiful 2 year old and 18 weeks with number two conceived first cycle as well.

Hope better times are just around the corner for you too.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading through these stories, currently waiting for confirmation of MMC (hoping it just happens naturally but I'm 38 so time is truly running out). Three years of trying, failed ivf in last cycle then first spontaneous pregnancy immediately after. It stopped growing around 6 weeks (would have been 8 now). I just want to get back to being pregnant so so much. People have also told me about fertility after MC so I was having a rare smile reading through everyone's stories. Best of luck to you and to the other poster testing 💐 x

I am sorry for your loss
I had a MMC at 12 weeks and had surgical intevention.
I then got pg 1 week later, had no idea that was even possible. My period hadn't returned and I tested after 8 weeks and got a bit of a shock.
Physically it was fine (DD is 18 now) but mentally it was VERY VERY hard.
Best of luck x

I've got everything crossed for you! I'm 38 too, we're not that old, don't fret. Best of luck and I'm so sorry you're going through this now. This time next year.....who knows

My miscarriage was complicated and dragged on for months. But once bleeding eventually stopped I got pregnant on the second cycle.

ScaryGrotbag · 04/10/2024 12:36

Yes I did. She's 13 now.

That sounds horrendous, I'm so sorry you went through that. I'm glad you got such a positive after going through that.

Had my mmc confirmed today. I asked the midwife to give her opinion on fertility after miscarriage/pregnancy, whether it was anecdotal or actually true. She said that although there's little research on it, that she thinks it's definitely true. A nice positive note to end that particular appointment! She was like.. we do recommend waiting til your first period to help with dating. I had my first smile of that appointment. Aye right I'm waiting!

I wonder if anyone reads this, if you could say what kind of wait did you have post miscarriage for ovulating?

I ovulated a matter of days after my D&C following a 12 week MC and was pg after DTD once so I would say its true.

Oh wow @Hoppinggreen So quick! I’ll make sure I’m testing right away. I’ve a vac surgery booked but it’s not for 2 weeks so may end up going naturally before than.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm the same, Im not waiting for a new cycle, if it happens it happens beforehand and I'll be thrilled. I had signs of ovulation, ewcm about 2 weeks after the first day of my miscarriage. Mine was at 11 weeks exactly and it was spontaneous, just started bleeding and bled for two weeks, so I think it happened at almost exactly the same time I stopped bleeding. I'm in what I think is the two week wait now but I'm guessing my period will come a bit later than my usual 28 day cycle. It's a waiting game I guess and I'm absolutely terrible at waiting

I know what you mean. If someone could just show me the future I think i'd not find all this waiting so torturous. All the 2 week waits, all the nhs IVF wait lists, waiting to miscarry, waiting to ovulate - three years of waiting and counting... I am so ready to stop waiting! I'm pretty sure there a samuel beckett play about waiting. maybe i should audition.

I miscarried 4 weeks ago and took my first 3 pregnancy tests last night and today confirming I’m pregnant again. So yes, it does happen. Hang in there- I know how gut wrenching it can all be.

Yep;she's 17 and sitting next to me.

I fell pregnant immediately after a miscarriage. Very smooth pregnancy, no issues at all, he's 3 now.

shakeitoffsis · 07/10/2024 20:56

Yes I did. I miscarried on the 9th december 2021 and got a positive test January 14th 2022.

Gunnersforthecup · 07/10/2024 20:59

I had 3 miscarriages in 8 months. I had a baby about a year after that, and another about 4 years after that.
