Prams

Hey everyone! The time has come where I've started pram shopping.

We think we've narrowed it down to:

  • Bugaboo dragonfly (love that it folds all as one system but on the expensive end/ doesn't come with much in the bundles)
  • Uppababy vista V2 (Love how easy it is, comes with great accessories in the bundle, need to pay extra for the car seat & isofix seperate from bundle)
  • Bubbabing Raffi (I love this pram, husband I think is less keen, better price than the other two)

We have read like every review we can find, tested them all multiple times, watched endless videos on YouTube and TikTok and we're stuck. Has anyone had any experience with these prams/ have any advice?

We have the Bugaboo Dragonfly and love it.
Little one is only just over two weeks old but we've taken it out a couple of times and I'm really happy with it.
Really easy to use and would recommend it

I’ve had the vista for 3.5 years. Used it in double function when baby 2 arrived 18 months ago. We love it. Enormous basket. Easy to switch between different set ups so we sometimes have it in double, sometimes single etc. No complaints!

We have brought the Bugaboo Dragonfly! Baby isn’t here yet so can’t comment on how good it is, but I loved it from all the ones we looked at in the shop and think it will suit our lifestyle perfectly 🤞🏻 xx

Upperbaby vote from me! The massive basket alone makes it worth it. All my friends were always asked to store stuff their prams couldn't fit. Used it for my first and second and used it with the buggy board too. You can get adapter clips to use with maxi cosi car seat too, or you used to be able to.

We had the Vista and found it FAR too big. It didn't fit anywhere in the house for storage, I (at 5'3") struggled to lug it in and out of the boot... I also didn't like the shape of the toddler seat. My son couldn't nap in it as he wasn't lying flat even though the seat tilted to a flat position.

When he was around a year old we bought a travel buggy (which lay flat and slotted neatly under the stairs) and never looked back.

I’d say the UppaBaby Vista. I caught my finger folding up the bugaboo so it put me off (prob just me being clumsy!). Have you been to a shop to try them all out? I justified having a more expensive pram as I used it all the time. If you are likely to barely use it get a cheaper one 🙂

Have a look for the prams on eBay, you can get a feeling for how well they wear by the condition of the second hand ones!

I've used the Uppababy for nearly 10 years and love it. It's big and strong and Uppababy after care is great. The basket is huge and can literally carry a toddler.

I will be following this. Had my DS almost 7 years ago and had a Silver Cross Pioneer but had a few issues with it, only little things such as the sun visor wasn’t very effective and cleaning it was difficult. Just little bits you remember from using it.

Will look forward to suggestions on here for baby who’s due in March 🙂

Another vote for UPPAbaby Vista V2. I think the V3 is out now, so if you’re buying new that may be an improvement.

It really does depend on your individual circumstances though. We wanted something robust that could cope with carrying a lot. We also bought our car after the V2 so could be sure it fit. The wheels come off very easily. It’s a big pram and we have a small house but we deal with it fine. I’m also tiny at 5ft and 7.5st, and I’m able to lift it easily but it is on the heavier side. We live in London and I take it on public transport all the time.

The best thing about the Vista is that it converts to a double. We knew we wanted to have our kids fairly close together so that was a priority. DD will be 2.5 when DS is born and even though she’s a confident walker, she still needs the pram for longer journeys, speed, and naps.

It's expensive new so i'd look at second hand options. One saver though is that the bassinet is suitable for overnight sleeps so you wont need a travel cot until baby grows out of it.

The babbabing Raffi is super. I absolutely love it! Their customer service is brilliant too - it's a Yorkshire based family ran company and they really take pride in their products. Have been using it since birth for my 14 month old and will be using it for baby 2 when they arrive in Feb. Did loads of shopping around and think it's a really good price in comparison to other brands like mamas and papas and it's the same quality and it's more lightweight!

Thank you everyone, really appreciate all of your recommendations. We have tested so many out and I think leaning towards the Vista. We may go back to the shop again to have another try as well.
