Hi I have had a benign cyst on my left breast for a while now which didn't have any issues but has gotten really red in the past few days .. When I consulted the GP, they said it might have been infected and a course of antibiotics should help.. I prodded him to see if there were any other alternatives like topical cream etc given am 11 weeks pregnant but he suggested that this is the only way... So I have started flucloxacillin 500mg 4 times a day since last night and it is turning out to be really difficult to keep anything down in my tummy since then... I have lost appetite, but whatever little amounts am eating, I am puking all of it ..I am really worried how I will be able to complete a 7 day course like this and also if this is normal .. given the GP and the pharmacy is closed tomorrow, am in two minds if I should discontinue it but the doctor specifically instructed not to discontinue it... Anyone here who has had experience with this medication? Any tips to make this easier on my stomach please? Thanks in advance!

Poor you OP, sounds awful. Not quite the same, but I was given erythromycin for strep throat when I was around 11 weeks pregnant. It made me so sick. I was already on anti sickness meds for pregnancy related nausea. I stopped taking it for a couple of days and stupidly prayed it would just resolve itself. I called the GP a few days later as throat flared up again and they switched me over to a penicillin based antibiotic which suited much better and no more vomiting, then my throat cleared up. You may be sorted by now, but I'd give the gp a call if you haven't already, there's usually another alternative for most meds!
