Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I have a teenager and a 6 month old baby at home. Despite using precautions until i organised getting the coil fitted, i have today found out i am pregnant. I only tested as i felt nauseous after brushing my teeth and that was a consistent issue last pregnancy. My period has been irregular since baby was born/been breastfeeding too, so wasn’t concerned that it was 5/6 weeks since last one.
Anyway, I had horrendous sickness with lots of hospital admissions throughout both pregnancies. I thought i would not be having nay more. I ended up on steroids eventually with last baby as was so unwell/lost so much weight. I could barely lift my head for a few weeks. The thought of not being able to carry on with this pregnancy now that i am pregnant is heartbreaking. But i just don’t know how i can do it again. I doubt my nutrient stores are even up to scratch again as yet (was anaemic/low b12 etc by end of pregnancy). I am going to go and see my GP tomorrow to discuss options. But yep, i wonder if anyone has had back to back HG pregnancies and managed okay/got by. Aside from the fact that I don’t feel it is fair on my current baby, who is absolutely attached and content with me, I don’t know if my body could handle it. I keep hoping i can think of a way to make it work but i really don’t think there is. I have a very small support network and my partner works long hours. Any (kind) viewpoints, opinions, experiences and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

i did this, with an 18 month gap in between pregnancies. Coped by setting aside cash ahead of second pregnancy to put toddler into nursery for extra days. I’m not sure I would have coped with a 6 month old baby, sorry.

I didn't have back to back pregnancies but after hyperemesis in my pregnancy I developed severe pnd and was breastfeeding a multiple allergy baby. This meant I was on an extremely limited diet with about 20 safe foods as well struggling with being able to make myself food/ poor appetite. The back to back poor diet meant I really struggled physically. By the time I stopped breastfeeding at 10 months I had lost 16% of my body prepregnancy weight and collapsed with very low BP and low blood sugars. Thankfully I was in a mother and baby unit so there were Drs on hand.

I think I struggled more post partum than I would have done because the sickness through the pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, meant all my reserves had already gone.

Given your history I think I would be trying to get to the GP asap to try and get help and support now to give your body the best chance of getting through the next 9 months
