Bump got heated whilst cooking!

Ladies, I'm 34 weeks and I've been cooking a large pot of dinner. Didn't even realise the bump was heating up by the gas stove (even though no direct contact with pan). Bump was hot to the touch, cooled it down with water and now taking caution. Baby is ok right?! There's many layers to protect it from heat correct? I'm guessing this happens to every expecting mum at some point!!l?

Baby will be fine.

If it was cool enough for you not to have noticed it getting hot then how could the baby have been harmed?

Alltheusefulitems · 20/09/2024 07:56

Yes baby is absolutely fine and getting a warm bump will have caused no problem at all 😊

Think about the many women living in very hot countries who are pregnant and have healthy babies.

CheeseWisely · 20/09/2024 10:13

Immersive heat in terms of a sauna or a hot tub could be an issue because they raise your whole body core temperature. Your bump getting a bit warm while standing by the hob does no harm whatsoever.

First baby? Don't worry they'll be fine.

Can’t say that ever happened to me when pregnant but obviously it’s fine, concern would be for a burn to your skin if it was that close to the heat source which doesn’t sound like it happened, obviously it wouldn’t affect the baby.

Thank you for the reassurance ladies 😅
