Log burner - 9 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone,

I am 9 weeks pregnant. This weekend me and my partner have been staying in an air b and b and using the log burner. I did not even think until after that this may be a problem. The first few times logs were added, I helped and probably breathed in the smoke and carbon monoxide. After this I stood by the window and he did it.

I am now really paranoid as Google says to avoid log/ wood burners all together when pregnant. Would the fumes of two evenings have done anything to baby? I am really worried, especially after helping him at the start.

Thank you!

No, you are fine.

Congrats on your pregnancy! It is good to be careful, but try to keep perspective. People used to have much less safe open fires for thousands of years. It was only two days, you will be fine. Please take a deep breath and try to find a nice distraction. You are taking good care of little bean x

I have a log burner and was pregnant throughout winter with my son with the fire on constantly - no issues. Don't worry ,you'll be fine.

Best advice i ever got about pregnancy was to stay away from Google!

Barrenfieldoffucks · 15/09/2024 17:31

You're fine. People have used open fires and log burners for warmth for generations

Hopefullyromantic · 15/09/2024 17:32

Absolutely no problem in the slightest.

teatoast8 · 15/09/2024 17:33

You'll be fine

Step away from Google

Is this real? No breathing in soot from 2 nights in an air bnb will have zero implications on your pregnancy Hmm you're going to have the worlds longest pregnancy if you genuinely got
Upset and worried after 2 nights in an air bnb.

I think you should get some help for your mental health and anxiety issues because that will impact your child's actual life if you keep this level of anxiety up.

This cannot be real

Err you will be fine! Not something that ever crossed my mind when pregnant, we use a log burner nearly every evening in the winter. Just think of the cavewomen breathing in smoke from open fires, Victorian women with the awful air pollution.

Dont Google! I'd personally never want a log burner in my house, it does affect the air quality inside your home. But one weekend of use won't matter.
