If they're over 2.5 by the time baby arrives then i wouldn't bother with a double pram and just get a buggy board.
Putting 2nd baby in a sling or carrier when out and about works well for the first couple of months, hopefully by which time your toddler has got the hang of the buggy board!

Out n about 360. 100%

Posithor · 14/09/2024 17:23

Outnabout nipper 360 - I had 2yrs 3m between mine and used it daily to go to the childminders for a year it's fantastic - when my daughter didn't want to go in it any more I still used it for shopping 😂

Thank you all, toddler is just so quick and runs off

I have a 22 month gap, 2.5 yr old and 10 month old and we have the mountain buggy duet and got the carrycot plus to have youngest parent facing until he was about 8 months. The carrycot plus seat was narrow, but I was quite happy world facing him by this time.
I also need the double as my toddler is a runner and also still naps in the pram if we’re out and about.

Another recommendation for the Out n About Nipper Double.

Unfortunately Out n About themselves are awful at customer service so you're better off buying second hand.

Flittingaboutagain · 14/09/2024 20:53

Second hand Bugaboo Donkey lover. My two hold hands facing me and it's the best feeling ever. It fits through all but tiny Victorian doorways, has a large weight limit for the seats once they're both out of bassinet and they can face in or out. Far safer to have somewhere to strap toddler in whilst you're changing baby etc than a buggy board with seat. Also some children nap until 4 or 5 so on a long day out so within the year you'll want more than a carrier and pushchair.

Hey OP! There was another similar thread recently which I shamelessly jumped on asking for double pram recommendations, and someone suggested the Out and About double nipper. We've just got one this weekend second hand off Facebook and it's so light, easy to fold, easy to steer and full of storage pockets 🤣 the seller really looked after it as it's immaculate and she rated it really highly, was just selling as her kids were off to school.

You can buy a bassinet attachment which we're going to do as I feel better if I can see newborn baby (due in Feb) rather than them facing forward.

On the other thread there were some downright bitchy comments about how no child over 2.5 should be in a pram, however we'll have exactly the same age gap (newborn and 2.5yr old), we live by a busy main road and the only way our eldest will nap is in a pram (just wanted to pre empt any rogue comments!)

We have the Ickle bubba Venus prime which comes with the newborn carrycot included, as well as footmuffs and a rain cover. We love it - both DC seem happy and comfortable in it, it’s nice to push, easy to fold and cheaper than a lot of others on the market.

@OopsieeDaisy ive been looking up this one all evening, really considering it, how do you find it with doors/shops etc ? Everyone saying it’s great but downside is doesn’t fit some doors, do you find this?

tried the outnabout nipper today too feels so light, tried the bugaboo donkey and found it really heavy

Thanks everyone
@USaYwHatNow I was looking at this one earlier in store and it was so light, I really liked pushing it.
No way really that’s crazy dd will be just under 2.5 when baby arrives and I don’t see her settling down any, one second and she just runs and is so quick she will be gone , safer she stays in a pram when out in busy places , not even an option atm to not have her secured in to something

I’m also due in December with a 2-year-old! She’ll be 2.5 when DS comes. We bought a nearly new UPPAbaby Vista V2 system with DD that came with bassinet, seat, and an extra rumble seat with adapters, so we’ll try that, but I have fears it’ll be a bit too cumbersome. I’m reluctant to use a sling full time because I’m genuinely afraid of DS needing to contact nap. DD was able to nap in the bassinet fine (still loves a pram nap) and I swear it was because we took her out in it so often - slings were tricky thanks to my short torso and c-sec. It was sooo helpful!

We also got a buggy board but like yours DD is a runner/super slow walker/totally erratic! We also live in London and it’s a nightmare to contain her safely when she walks, so can’t commit to longer distances without a pram. I also worry I won’t be able to get into any shops or on public transport with a side-by-side double like the nipper.

@Babyboyno2 I can’t say I’ve been anywhere yet that I couldn’t fit through the door, and I’ve used it a fair bit! I’ve been to one coffee shop where they usually have one door unlocked to go through and it’s narrow so I had to unlock and open the other side as well but that didn’t bother me. It can be a little tight sometimes going round shops where things like clothes stands are packed in quite tightly but I feel like most doubles probably would be? Also being slightly wider, I feel like DC1 will get a bit longer in it before it’s outgrown, my friend has the bugaboo donkey and her 2 year old DS is almost outgrowing the seat already.

OopsieeDaisy · 16/09/2024 13:37

@Babyboyno2 just to add actually, the Ickle bubba doesn’t fit through my front door - it’s not a problem for me as I generally keep it in the car or I fold it outside and carry it in, but may be something to consider!
