  2. 2nd September
  3. 6th September
  4. 11th September
Is this good progression?

Congratulations, these lines look fab!

Looks good, but remember it doesn't predict the outcome! You can only wait.

CluelessInLondon · 11/09/2024 12:11

It looks fine - stop testing! The tests can't tell you anything about the health of your pregnancy, only that you are pregnant, so congratulations.

What does good progression even mean? You are pregnant, now you can stop testing.
Congratulations

You can be assured by the strength of the lines, yes. It's true that a chemical pregnancy will not produce strong lines ect. However line progession is really misleading. Ive had many miscarriages, some with strong lines, some with faint. My eventual successful pregnancy had extremely faint lines. It means nothing.

Thanks everyone. The reason I asked is because I've been to the hospital with some bad stomach pains and they said to keep testing to check for how strong the line is. I thought the line looked fine but they were talking about missed miscarriages with no bleeding so just got to be wary I guess.

That's really strange advice - unfortunately you could have a miscarriage and still get strong lines on a pregnancy test, and they really should know that! How far along are you?

Spomb · 11/09/2024 15:09

I think they have given you very misleading advice and I would be tempted to make a complaint. As someone who has had many miscarriages this goes against all the advice I have ever been given.

The strength of the lines gives no indication of a viable pregnancy and you can continue to get strong lines even after miscarriage.

Agree! I'm really shocked that they told you this. The only way to know it's viable is a scan. All testing is going to achieve is anxiety I'm afraid. On the plus side, it's also really odd that they jumped to miscarriage based on cramps alone, it's really common in early pregnancy as the uterus starts to stretch.
Do you have any other symptoms? Any conditions or history making them think it could be? I'd be inclined to complain and ask to be seen by someone else.
