Hello! I’m new here and sorry if I’m posting in the wrong place! I’m 7 weeks today (due in April) and it feels like my symptoms have all gone. A few days ago I was feeling sick, horrible taste in mouth, bloating etc and almost overnight they have gone. I feel like my symptoms where not really strong in the first place and maybe I’m just lucky but I feel worried now as my friends symptoms stopped around now and very sadly she had a MC at 12 weeks :( Does anyone else feel the same? Xxxx

With my first little one , I had absolutely no symptoms whatsoever (only reason I knew I was pregnant was because it was an ivf pregnancy) - this pregnancy the symptoms came and went all the time! Ridiculously stressful.

Baby happily wiggling away at my 12 week scan last week!

@IMBCRound2 Awh thanks for the reassurance! its so frustrating that they come and go! so happy for you and your wriggler! Xx

My symptoms have changed each day throughout this pregnancy! Unless you are having bleeding or pain, I wouldn't worry.

sel2223 · 11/09/2024 14:10

It's completely normal for symptoms to come and go, especially in the first trimester.

In my first pregnancy, my symptoms didn't even start until week 7.

Second pregnancy they stopped around 7 weeks then started up again
Stopped again around 10 weeks then started up again.
I get 5-6 days of relief but when the symptoms return they're even worse!!

My mum had 4 kids and never any sickness or other obvious symptoms. The one time she did have strong symptoms was the time she miscarried!

Literally every woman and every pregnancy is different. Try not to compare

@Peonies12 and @sel2223 Thanks for your comments! I feel more relaxed now. I guess there is nothing you can do except wait so I'm going to try that 🫣😆 I was wondering...if I did have a reassurance scan at 8 weeks would you be able to see much? Thanks xx

With my first I didn't find out until almost 8 weeks and I had no symptoms. With my others the symptoms come and go as others have said.

Allthingspeaches · 12/09/2024 11:41

At 8 weeks you would see heart beating if your dates are right. It could cause more anxiety if you don't see what you're expecting because you're a few days behind where you think you should be.

I'd say wait til at least 8 weeks, and remember that the scan can only tell you it's OK in that moment, it's no guarantee.

sel2223 · 12/09/2024 11:49

Obviously there are no guarantees OP, but if you did want to go for an early scan then 8 weeks + is best.
The chances of MC drop significantly once you have seen a heartbeat at 8 weeks.

Olika · 12/09/2024 12:07

I had an early scan at 8 weeks and it put my mind to rest after previous MC and no symptoms so I think they are worth it. This is what it looked like.

Hello just to update and thanks eveyone for the replies!! Went for a scan yesterday and baby measured 10 weeks 5 days, overjoyed to see their little heartbeat. Unfortunately a ('quite big') umbilical hernia was seen, I think they are meant to close up around now (11/12 weeks). I stated a new post about this but if anyone knows anything about this let me know :( feeling quite anxious and down about it. X
