Can ECV make a baby late?

I'm 38 weeks today and had a successful ECV a week ago, was extremely happy with the procedure and for me totally worth it as I want to try for a birth centre birth if possible.

This is my first baby - I know someone who said that having an ECV can make your baby come later due to the head having less time to engage in the pelvis - just wondering if anyone else has experienced this / or is a midwife who might know!?

With this being a first baby and not keen on an induction for dates if all else is well, I am strapping myself in for the long haul even though I feel like I can't possibly get any bigger or more immobile!

I would look into spinning babies exercises to get baby into the right position and nicely settled head down! As far as I understand labour is believed to be started by the baby producing something rather than pushing down. Remember people go into labour with breech babies all the time :)

Congratulations on the successful ECV though! Had one in my first pregnancy and was so uncomfortable and it failed still!

I’ve never heard that, but good news it worked. As PP said, labour starts when baby produces something rather than their position. Try spinning babies / yoga positions t9 encourage baby in good position, and stay as active as you can
