(of course anyone who knows me'll know that i'm worrying anyway because that's what i do in pregnancy!)

is baby still very likely to turn all by himself? is there anything i can do to encourage this?

Thanks!

Adopt optimal fetal positioning techniques but don't worry too much. DD was head down for ages then did two flips to breech at 37 weeks (little sod). She even spent a few days transverse just to scare the midwives

You'll be fine.

...actually more intrigued that you called baby "himself" does that mean you know its a boy or are you trying a double bluff!

Stop worrying she will turn!

Hi
Im a midwife and wanted to reassure you that at 32 weeks you shouldnt worry at all.
We have been encouraged not to disclose the position until 34 weeks for just this reason-causing unecessary worry.I always tell mums tho cos they love to know !
Take care.

Ds2 was breech at 32 and turned later by himself. HTH

DD was breech at 28 weeks and never turned. In the end she was born at 41+3 as a breech at home with Independent Midwives.

Retrospectively, I wish I had done something to try and encourage her - specifically accupuncture/moxibustion or finding a chiro skilled in the Webster technique. But I can see it's difficult for midwives to know when to start talking about it.

I'd try not to worry becuase there is plenty of time for it to turn, but start looking at ways to help as they shouldn't do any harm and may help

Firend of mine was breech at 32 weeks and for a couple of weeks afterwards. She did do some fetal positioning techniques and spent a lot of time with her bu int hair and she had a right way round baby girl 2 weeks ago.

Book yourself in for some acupuncture. Dd was breech from 28 weeks too and never turned - had a c-section in the end.

I got the acupuncture sorted out at 36 wks but the therapist said I was probably too late (and I was!).

Dd was breech and turned at 36 weeks...try not to worry.

I've been feeling a bit frantic as my baby is transverse at 33wks and has been forever. MW has been very reluctant to discuss the what ifs with me but I did press her a bit this week. She told me that her (personal) 'cut off' point is 34 wks and if baby is still not playing ball, she will send me for a scan & appointment with consultant to discuss what happens next, bearing in mind that even then, there is STILL plenty of time. This is my first so I'm sure I'm being a bit overanxious. Fingers crossed for some baby gymnastics soon. Good Luck.

drink ice cold water, because baby won't like this on it's head and will turn...allegedly!?

(told this by midwife at nct classes - think you will know who i mean...)
