Is this baby movement?

I'm 17+4 and past couple of days have felt nerves in lower stomach. No gas has been followed after and it feels like when you go over a hill in a car almost. Or worried about something but in lower tummy, is this baby movement? when I press on where I'm feeling it, it's firm/hard compared to the rest of my squishy belly lol.

Could well be yes. I think first movements feel different for everyone. With my first I would describe those first movements as like having a pulse in my bump (baby had a lot of hiccups which I think is actually what the first thing I felt was!)

Not heard anyone say this but am I even able to feel baby when pressing on my stomach (I don't mean the movements, I mean actual baby) and that's why it's hard/firm? i have this small lump/ball lower stomach that is firm and feels like pressure when I press on it and that's the area I feel the "movement" x

So later in pregnancy your midwife will try to tell the position of baby just from feeling your bump. I'm not sure if its so much baby or your uterus at this point that you feel, but yes its normal for it to feel firm. With both my pregnancies I've seen baby moving, as whole bump sort of distorts when they move (its a very weird experience)

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with our first baby. I have been very concerned about not feeling movement yet, even though I am told it is not uncommon not to feel movement until later than this in first pregnancies and also that I have an anterior placenta which can also mean I may not feel movements until later.
I have had very few pregnancy symptoms up until very recently and though, thank god, scans have shown our baby is developing well, it has been hard to believe I'm really pregnant. In the last week or so I've started to feel a strong pulse in my stomach while lying down, which I have attributed to increased blood flow to my uterus, but I am also feeling occasional fluttering sensations in my lower belly, though so elusive that I'm not sure if I'm imagining them or not.
I only have a small bump but my stomach is definitely firm to the touch which it wasn't before and my belly button has begun to extrude which took me a little by surprise so things are obviously shifting in that area!
Sorry can't give any advice for your specific situation, just wanted to send some solidarity from another expectant mum who is suffering anxiety from not being sure if I've felt baby moving yet.

Just to add, my midwife performed a doppler scan for me last week to check baby's heartbeat and also told us she had hiccups, which we could just about hear too, so I'm wondering if the sensations I'm feeling might be that. I know my whole body jerks every time I hiccup so I imagine it may be the same for babies!

Thank you for sharing your experience as well. I think I'm also nervous as I have two bouncy ball type lumps inside my bump (I'm showing quite a lot already) and keep thinking that's baby when I press as they hurt a little bit when I press but they don't move. I've only noticed it in last week and it's also where I feel the "movement". I have a scan this Saturday. Last time I saw baby was 15w6 and everything was good and I'm 17+4 now. It's so worrying. Second trimester I've struggled with most as no symptoms anymore it's hard to feel pregnant!

@Everlore Hiccups are very distinctive once you start to notice baby movements more - they are very rhythmic compared to other baby movements, and very much like you'd kind of expect if you were hiccuping inside someone, a doofh, then a break, then a doofh then a break which continues for awhile. I felt baby movements much later this pregnancy (second) with an anterior placenta than I did with first (fundal placenta) but other than them starting a later, its felt very similar. .

@apple67cherry I personally love the second trimester! No more nausea and none of the uncomfortableness of the third trimester :)
