SPD or hypermobility?

I'm confused. I've had the usual back pain as the bump gets bigger, ligaments loosen etc. Last week, I did my usual 3 mile walk, getting slower and more cumbersome every time, but was in quite a bit of pain underneath afterwards. It lasted for a few days and seems to come back when I walk for longer than 15 minutes or so. I exercise 3 times a week, aquafit, yoga, walking and cycling and have noticed my back is a bit twitchy for a few hours after yoga but this pain is different. It is right underneath on both sides from back to front. I've heard of the symptoms of both SPD and joint hypermobility and sometimes the lines seem a bit blurred between the two. Can anyone differentiate? Not seeing MW until 7 May.

it all falls under pelvic misalignment. I had bad spd displaced sacro ilia and pubis split back and up. Still 13 mths post natal and vaguely better, although off crutches now for three mths. I have one hypermobile side and a small leg length discrepancy. Get yourself to rehab physio!

Blimey, sounds like a pain in the arse, literally! My left leg is almost an inch longer than my right leg. I was seeing the biomechanic foot doctor before I got pregnant due to a Mortons neuroma on my right foot (bunched nerves due to increased pressure) and now wear specially made insoles. I suppose the bigger I get, the more problems my pelvis has staying aligned. Bugger.

I wish it was just arse!! Badcnerve pain down front and inside thigh and under knee to foot. Sciatica would be a pleasure compared to this.

They never tell you about these things before you get pregnant, I was blissfully unaware of it all. I've just booked in to see the obstetric physio on Thursday. Hope it all settles down for you soon, Piffle. Visceral osteopathy and cranio sacral therapy have both saved my bacon on many occasions and I shall be consulting them both in the next few weeks!

Hi, i' hypermobile and have had SPD since 14 weeks preg, i'm now 30 weeks and still working full time..... tho thats about all i can do. Evening walks are out as i can only manage about 3/4 of a mile before i can feel my pelvic bones literally grinding. My hypermobility doesnt hurt when i;m just walking or moving around, i am just very, very suscepible to sprains, strains and ligament tears which can happen for no apparent reason, my ankle or knee will just buckle underneath me and twist, or pushing myself up from siting on the floor or out of the bath can sprain my wrist. Thats the difference for me anyway.

i am hypermobile and physio said this type of person tends to suffer spd

tbh i am so scared of it this pg that i barely exercise - last pg i walked and walked and suffered badly at the end

i think the line is blurred tbh
