Hi all, so I’m currently around 11 weeks pregnant and over the past few days my symptoms seem to have faded to nothing. It’s gotten me really worried!

At the start of the week I was feeling a little nauseous and my nipples were sore and I also had lower aches (pretty much the only symptoms I have had) and now nothing! I did have a uti which I’m currently on antibiotics for and not sure if it is something to do with this maybe? Or maybe I felt worse symptom wise because I had the uti?

Has anyone any advice please? Worrying myself sick over here… I do have my dating scan on Tuesday and am scared that I’ll be told something is wrong!

Between 10-12 weeks the placenta takes over and does all the hard work so it's very normal for symptoms to fade! :) I know it's scary - going through it now but had a scan this morning and baby was wriggly and fine!

Thank you @Shahhhh thats what I am hoping is happening, that makes me feel better! X

My symptoms were similar to yours and disappeared around 9/10week, currently 20w and all going well 🤗

I could have written this myself OP. I’m 11 weeks on Tuesday and the last few days I’ve felt a lot less sick (still queasy and tired but the nausea has definitely faded).

I think the other posters are right about the placenta taking over. I have a scan on Tuesday as I’m under the recurrent miscarriage clinic and have had to have scans every two weeks due to my medication. Needless to say I’m very nervous.

Good luck for Tuesday also, let us know how you get on x

My symptoms started to ease off from 11 weeks - I think it’s common as the placenta takes over and HCG levels reduce. Im 37 weeeks now!

Thank you all for the messages, you don’t understand how much I appreciate them!! It’s making me feel so much better about things, I shall keep everything crossed for Tuesday and will certainly update you all! @Jellybelly888 good luck for your scan too!! X

Hey OP, I'm a midwife pregnant with my 2nd baby (18 weeks). The exact same thing happened to me after my 12 week scan and I was so worried even with all my background knowledge I booked a private scan and all was well. Funnily enough a bit of nausea did come back. Weird how you pray for the symptoms to give you a break then when they do we panic 🤣 can't win!

So true, I think it’s been made worse by my lack of symptoms, just been a bit anxiety reducing. But glad to see that we aren’t the only ones and especially makes me feel better that a midwife feels that way haha 😂 we are just all in the same boat aren’t we?! X

Little update - baby is all good, seen heart beat and wriggling away today. I’m 12 weeks, however, they didn’t want to lie still long enough for us to get a decent picture!

Over the moon with relief!!

Thanks for the update OP. I'm in the same situation with scan tomorrow and feeling so worried. We had our daughter via IVF and I had a miscarriage earlier this year following my first natural conception ever. This pregnancy is miraculously another natural conception and after giving up on the idea of a sibling after much more failed IVF last year, I just can't believe we might have a good outcome. You've given me a bit of hope back!

JojoP12 · 04/09/2024 06:39

@SErunner how far along are you? From what I was told, it’s a good sign that things are progressing as they should. Sending luck to you xx

Thank you. I'm 11+4 by LMP and have my 12 week scan today. I had a positive scan at 8+4 but after everything it is just so hard to feel positive. I'm not usually a negative Nelly but this has just been such a long and distressing journey. Thank you, fingers crossed indeed.

Jellybelly888 · 04/09/2024 07:38

@JojoP12 congratulations on your scan and getting to the lovely 12 week mark! You must be feeling so relieved?

I had my scan yesterday and actually measured 4 days ahead of where we thought, so I will be 12 weeks on Friday. Not sure why but the extra 4 days have given me a boost - it’s like all the extra days in early pregnancy really count don’t they?

Need to get myself a midwife now as I’ve been under the hospital the whole time and don’t have a midwife yet or had a booking appointment. There was no way I was doing it before knowing I’d got to 12 weeks, as daft as that sounds 😳

JojoP12 · 04/09/2024 11:49

It is the most stressful situation I have ever experienced; who knew that this was motherhood! @SErunner

@Jellybelly888 yes, the relief is major! And the extra time really does provide a boost. Please make sure to get a midwife as soon as now, they are an amazing support to have x

@SErunner hope all went ok today? X

SErunner · 04/09/2024 19:17

Thanks both. It did. Surreal but amazing ❤️

Congrats to you too @Jellybelly888 - so glad you've got to this point as well. It's such a bloody rough ride all this fertility stuff x

Jellybelly888 · 04/09/2024 20:16

@SErunner ah I’m so happy to hear this! Congratulations and hope you have some anxiety eased now x
