Panicking about downstairs

Warning for TMI post but I'm panicking: I really needed to go to the toilet but I'm abit constipated, felt like I was sitting on the toilet for ages. When I finally managed to go and stood up, I feel like I've pooed my vagina out 😩 like there was a bulging/swelling at the front and I feel like stuff that should be on the inside is on the outside now. I'm really worried I've given myself a prolapse or something and if it's this bad from straining for a poo, what state am I going to be after the birth 😱 I knew my pelvic floor muscles weren't great (this is my fourth baby) but I'm honestly really scared now that I'm badly damaged down there, probably sounds silly but I went on my bed with head down and bum in the air to try and get it all to go back in bit it still feels stingy and swollen down there now, I'm almost 38 weeks, should I do something or just see if it feels better on its own?

I’d contact your midwife and see what she says and maybe get them to check to over x

I'll caveat this with I have a bladder prolapse.
You'll be super lax down there at the moment, try resting as much as poss with your feet up. After birth if you can push for pelvic floor physio

Get yourself something from the pharmacy ASAP to soften your poos so you don't have to strain anymore.
Laxido/Movicol/Lactulose are all safe in pregnancy, talk to the pharmacist.
These are a really good idea for the few weeks after delivery too.

Then ask your obstetric team for a referral for pelvic floor physio (consider paying for this privately if you can as it can be a long wait on the NHS and I think is so so worth it, especially if you're on baby number 4!)

@SantasRubiksCube if you mention it to your midwife now she'll be able to refer you now to physical therapy and they'll check you out after birth! I have awful pelvic floor and I suspect I may have a low grade prolapse (bulging, heaviness etc) I saw the physio for the first time last week - she told me to do pelvic floor exercises twice a day, not too much as the pelvic floor needs to relax at this stage of pregnancy ready for birth, and then she will see me 6 weeks after birth and have a look down there, as there's nothing they can really do whilst you're pregnant anyway!
